Did Sarah Palin kick Biden's ass last night?

Did Sarah Palin bring freshness to the debate?

Did Sara Palin stuff the mainstream media's heads up their collective asses?

Did Sarah Palin ram the Croissant & Latte drinker's Kool-Aid pitchers down their throats?

Did Sara Palin say "Fuck You" to the immoral, moronic, Hollywood "I Hate America" dip-shits?

Did Sarah Palin appeal to the average American who is getting screwed by big government and liberal policies?

You Betcha!

For the record- I am pro Palin and McCain

However I was not impressed how both were trying to sell their candidate to the nation. About 2-3 minutes like clockwork they threw in the "..and Obama is able to understand.." or "..McCain is right for the job because..."

Also, I am further disgusted by both of them "word dancing"; a common technique to fill in the 90 second timeframe without actually saying anything. Like filling an essay by rambling and call it good because its 4 pages long. Biden and Obama's policies and standings are vastly flawed and Palin did not strike them down soundly. Honestly, I see better debates on the streets than these.

But there is still time before the election. Hopefully McCain can efficiently dispel the media placed aura surrounding Obama that masquerades him something that he is not.

You know I am not buying into this McCain/Palin media victimization tactic. "Oh the liberal media is out to get us" "Oh Katie Couric is a gotcha journalist" "Oh the media is favorable to Obama". Thats all horseshit. The media is doing it's job and getting the story and the story is how vastly underqualified Sarah Palin is, how her capabilities are limited to spewing memorized talking points, how McCain is an old ass man and made a huge mistake in picking an individual so unfit to be president in the likely event he is unable to finish a term...I could go on but you get the message. Just because you don't like what your hearing doesn't make it wrong and Foxnews isn't really news, it's a republican mouthpiece.

Personally, Palin did better than I thought she would. That being said, I didn't really expect much to begin with.

She started off insinuating that she wouldn't answer a question if she didn't want to, and set up Biden from the start with her 'Mind if I call you Joe,' so she couldn't wait to use her 'Say it isn't so Joe' zinger. She couldn't answer the questions, she could only spew the rhetoric she was so well coached in. Just an example of how staged it all was and how insincere she is. I did like how most every example she gave of Obama voting the 'wrong' thing Biden would come back with the FACT that McCain voted the exac same way. She never had a rebuttal for it. She kept using he term 'maverick,' but everything that made McCain a maverick he has changed course on to court the conservatives. And if she is so proud of her fighting the oil companies, why does she approved of drilling in ANWR and off shore? THAT is cowing to the oil companies, not fighting them. She didn't look at Biden much, or Gwen, or even at the camera, she had that 'inner' look of someone trying hard to remember something rehearsed in her head. Her views on the war were a stench in my nostrils, but I DID like her a LITTLE better when she spoke of tolerance of same-sex couples. LITTLE, microscopic. Hope it didn't kill her with her fundie religious fanatics that were her main base of support.

I don't think this debate swayed anyone, most have already made up their mind where they stand. I didn't like Biden till I saw him on Meet the Press, (really didn't know much about where he stood and what he though, he is kinda quiet and doesn't have much to say for himself before he was put in the spotlight) but my opinion of him went up expedentally after that, and after this debate I am not sure I don't like him better than Obama himself.

Except for the clean coal and nuclear power thing they support, I do NOT support them there, but that is just me. I am old-school environmentalist and don't like where the movement has gone in the past decade.

Good thing I don't chose my candidate on whether or not I wanna fuck them, wuddn't be ANYONE in the running, yuck. (And I am a bi chic, btw)

Oh, and EXCELLENT post, Bradley. Kudos!

Oh I get the message, you are conveniently blind.

Just because you are blissfully ignorant at the dirty tactics aimed at Palin doesn't make them unreal.

Everyone wanted to see a Sarah Palin train wreck. That didn't quite happen, but people watching the debate thought Biden won 2:1, so there you go.

Sarah Palin took on the oil companies in that she let them drill wherever they wanted, then taxed the shit out of them and gave all the money to Alaskans to boost her approval ratings. That might work in Alaska, but not so much in these lower 48.

Please pardon the non-sequitur, i've only read the first 5 pages of this thread, and am 90% through the debate, but does palin look like she is doing the most incredible job of controlling her laughter when they bring up the 'only a heartbeat away' thing? I bet she shares some rockin' in-jokes about ol' john biting it.

Good post, Doctor. Ignore the sarcasm, what is resorted to when you make a good point and they have no rebuttal.

The majority of polls I have seen have also favored Biden.

I agree.

A few of the specifics were troubling, but her job description is not to be El Senor Presidente. It's to be nombre dos. I think she's proven herself more than capable. In addition, her character, and charisma, were put on display. It was like watching the lighting of a Christmas tree. OOOOOOHHHHH.....AAAAAHHHHH

One heartbeat away.....

Hi, Zen ...

First issue: Its the job of the VP candidate to "sell" the presidential candidate to the nation. That's what's done in every presidential election. Believe me, I'm no John McCain fan ... but thinking of what O'Bama would mean to the nation, I have to go with Palin's running mate. ~lol~

Second issue: I share your frustration, but Palin has to support McCain's policy agenda. I mean, that's just the way it is. Can you imagine if Palin was free to speak her own mind? I can assure you ... the Palin we saw last night was very reserved. Set this woman loose and we would be seeing the female version of Ron Paul. She's Ronald Reagan in a dress. ;-)

Where did I say that I "hated" McCain? I don't hate McCain ... I said I wasn't a McCain fan. What would I rather see at this point? How about a Romney/Palin ticket where these two Washington outsiders tear the nation up with talk about free market, small government, conservative principles? Hell man, the only thing better than that would be a Ron Paul/Palin ticket ... but you know that would never happen. I DO give McCain credit, however, for picking Palin as a running mate.

Yep, Palin is Ronald Reagan in a dress ... and that's what frightens the limp-wristed lefties so much.
