Just saying the word Miracle Grow causes some real passionate responses from people. Most people hate it. Everybody has their favorite fertilizers and I know many people who are fanatical about them.

A few years ago I was invited to a party hosted by High Times Magazine. I brought a 1/4 lbs of Sweet God and gave Danny Danko a monster cola as a gift. He walked around holding that cola all night and was praising it to everyone. This was at a private club in Boston and I took over the bar and layed out the sweet god and told the crowd to start rolling. I brought a small jar with water in the bottom and a floating bud of a strain I created that was a Northern Lights x Purps cross. I had a small magnifying glass and a 100 people formed a line and all can up and stared in wonder at this little purple bud that was about 3 w3 weeks into bud, and already snow covered with THC. I had a photo of my field on the bar which Danny Danko and Bobby Black from High Times signed for me. I was the life of the party that night. One of the best nights of my life. Chem Dog was expected to attend but he didn't show so I was the star of the party as far as growers were concerned.

people who know good weed. I've never told this story before today to anyone, this is my confession. But I'm tired of seeing people turn up their noses at Miracle Grow when I watched the High Times boys praise the weed as "awesome, top shelf!"

I'm sure many of you have awesome fertilizers that are organic, and I'd love to try them but years ago in a great big field of weed, I was limited on resources until the harvest so I did what I've done for 25+ years and that was to use good old faithful, cheap
Miracle Grow and it fooled the High Times crowd.

I'd love to try getawaymountains seaweed fert. but sometimes you have to use whats available. If you stop fertilizing and flush your plants properly the only person who will know you used Miracle Grow is you and if you tell people its organic they will love it. If you tell them its Miracle Grow they will hate it. I used it for 25 years and I was well known for growing the best weed many hard core weed snobs ever had.

Am I ashamed of myself? No, why should I be. People judged my weed as awesome because it was awesome and I knew saying organic was what they needed to hear. I was able to fool the biggest pot snobs in the world, judges of the Cannabis Cup. They should be ashamed that they praised weed as awesome but only because they were told what they wanted to hear and had to be lied to get them to give their true opinion. Had they been told the truth they probably wouldn't have even smoked it never mind praised it.

Probably never should have posted this, Cats outta the bag now! LOL!

Its time to get stoned for the first time in 3 years! WOO HOO!

There`s nothing wrong with Miracle Grow. It`s a fire and forget weapon (so to speak). Except application, everything is done for you. Just don`t over use it.

It's cool that you found a fertilizer you can get results from that satisfy you and others. I'll agree that miracle grow and other chemical ferts can work, but your soil will die and your plants will be dependent on their chemical fix and sometimes if you're not careful nute burn.

Living soil works too and works best by invigorating the soil and bringing happiness to the root zone.

Which one is better is in the eye of the toker / producer.

What does High Times have to do with growing? They're a bunch of partying posers, there are people on this forum that know more than they
do about growing herb. :bigjoint:

Rob, the thing about dead soil is that you can bring it back to living soil at will. Month old inground plants just take off with that stuff. I also see triple the trichs. from it. If I cared to look, I could probably find out why, but why knock a gift horse so to speak.

I say whatever works for you fine, I am a organic grower but I'm not opposed to chem ferts, I just don't like using them.
i think it's funny you fooled those overindulgent self entitled high times folks.
when I started growing the amount of info out there is mind boggling and the advice although good most times is as varied
as the people giving it. I found my self lost confused and growing seemed almost like alchemy.
i tried once and failed, I thought this is a weed, it's tough, it had survived millions of years without humans and all I'm doing
is making it complicated and killing them with my kindness. Got a worm farm, made my own soil bought some guano and seaweed
and kept it really simple, wow got 8 for beautiful ladies and some of the best bud I've ever smoked. Point I'm trying to make is we use what we use because it works for us, they are all designed to work. But I seriously think it's been way over complicated.
air, sun, water, and a few feeds and yet good to go with whatever you use and less is always more.

Its not about them growing herb, its about them smoking herb, and judging herb!

You missed my point, it's not about them knowing how to grow weed, its about them being able to Judge the final product. These guys consider themselves weed connoisseurs and smoke and judge really good weed all day, everyday and when they are told what they want to hear will judge weed grown with Miracle Grow fairly and give it a 2 thumbs up blessing and top shelf A+ rating. That's when they are truly judging the product and not their prejudice preconceived notions that if it was grown with Miracle Grow its inferior to high end organics or any other fertilizer.

I don't think they grow weed, but they sure do smoke tons of it and they have the chance to smoke all different varieties grown 1000 different ways and without being told what they are smoking they will give the honest opinion that weed grown with Miracle is the freakin' Bomb! That was the point I was trying to make.

The quality of the marijuana grown with Miracle Grow is high enough that the world most recognized group of partying connoisseurs can't and won't find fault but will offer true praise as long as you let them judge the weed by the quality of the bud and smoke and not by preconceived notions and prejudices. That was my point.

In a fertilizer blind test where the weed is judged without knowledge of what fertilizer or method of growing was used, just the bud speaking for it self, weed grown with miracle grow is as good, maybe better than other fertilizers. We had our own little cannabis cup competition held at an annual halloween party with several growers presenting their weed and I won ever year. 6 growers of the same Northern Lights an mine looked like a different strain with more than double the amount of Trichromes. A Northern Blizzard of cyrstal!

Yah you fooled um, I never thought High Times knew what they were talking about most times, you just confirmed it. Besides, many peoples issue with Miracle Grow has more to do with it's shitty parent Company, Monsanto. I'll never knowingly use a Monsanto product. There are much better products out there. Good luck you sneaky devil...

Back in the 70's all we had was MG.

It was horrible. Could not get high for decades. Until they invented Marijuana Fertilizer.

MG is what brought MJ to where it is now. Most OG's secret weapon was MG and tap water... Oh are these new bloods about to learn some interesting shit!

Nothing wrong with using Miracle Grow if you want to...some strains actually react more positively to chemical ferts than organic fertilizers.

The problem I have with your post is pawning something off as an organically grown product when it isn't.

P.S. That cola you see in my avitar pic is from an all organic grown outdoor plant.

Why'd you bold every time you wrote miracle grow? Not knocking the product or its effectiveness... it just looks like shill marketing when you do that.

Personally I only use unicorn blood and antarctic bat guano for my fertilizer. True story.

GB and now DDJ on the maxsea wagon. Guess I'll have to order a tub each of 16-16-16 and 3-20-20 and "sea" for myself.

Sorry for the bold, I do that for people who arfe just skimming over posts to catch their attention. Sometimes we get off topic in our posts so for people browsing I do the bold so they can see that the paragraph in question is still on topic and discussing, in this case Miracle Grow.

Sorry again, I just couldn't help myself, thats my @#$%$#@ sense of humor. LOL
