You will water less often.
You make your nutrient solution in bigger quantities=greater accuracy.
You get big honking plants.
It's reusable. (if you disagree, just look at big honking plants
)
Hempy may be the least wasteful of water and nutes, if done properly. Watering the three big girls when dry uses about 1 3/4 ga eachl to get everything damp and the res overflowing a little bit. Everything gets taken up by the plant. I never throw water down the drain. Well, maybe a lil.
I buy RO from the supermarket in two 5 gallon jugs that i own. $.33/gal. I think I'm going to need another one . ..

Not a thing. I'm going to give it a shot one of these days. Did you start in a 5g bucket or something smaller and then transplant? Also, did you start your clones directly in hempy buckets?

I root cuttings in a small tub with 3 inches of moist perlite in the bottom. Piece of plexi loosely fitted on top, heating pad underneath and 3 26W CFLs. When they root I put them into 2 gl ice cream pails and veg them until I know the roots have really developed. Then into the 5 gallon pails. They definitely grow when they get in the big container. My 5 gallon gals roots completely fill the buckets.

Cool, I do something similar. I like to use a 1" layer of moist perlite underneath my tray cups in the humidity dome with a heat pad underneath too.
So you go 2g to 5g, how long in total do you end up vegging approx.?

Lookin good! Zip lock make a variety of great individual humidity domes that can be found under the title "sandwich bags" at your local grocery store-just fyi, it could free up your beer glasses. I really like those little buckets you're using for yoru clones what are they?.

Oh, and a flower vase. I am very ghetto.
I'm not really into the concept of domes; but the cloning was done in my furnace room: 0% relative humidity, so I felt I needed to cover them even after they rooted. A couple of times I've taken the dome off too soon. Ugh. That will really hurt a young clone.

Those once contained ice cream. I get all my dope growing plastic from the recycling bins behind a nearby institutional cafeteria. 1 gals with ice cream, 2 gallon sliced mushrooms, and, ahhh, 5 gallon pickle buckets. They have piles of them. I could have 100 if I wanted.
