Hey gambler, I'll see what I can do. I wasn't going to update again until harvest, which is maybe a week away, but I'll try to get ya some pix this afternoon. The girls are still doing well, big and stinky, just looking crappy in late flowering. The following three girls are developing well, although they are a little smaller than the first batch. And I am developing two mothers for the future. I supercropped one last week and it's now growing multiple tops, so I'll be able to get nice cuttings from it. The other just went into a five gallon bucket, so I'll wait a while before I start shaping it.

I'm currently flowering in a 4 x 4 enclosure using 2 600W HPS lights. I'm vegging in another room under 4 65W CFLs. I'm about to replace those with another 600Watter (maybe a 1000, but I don't know . . .), this time with Metal Halide. Spring is coming and I actually do "real" gardening. I need more light!!!!

oh, and if you don't already do it... you might toss some h2o2 in with all of ur water when you water, it might help to keep the algae down. maybe there is a better product for this... i've always wondered if the algae killer for fish tanks works, especially the kind that says its safe for aquarium plants.

i dont' know about needing more light... but i bet you'd almost double ur yield if you were flowering with those 2 600w HPS in a 4' by 8' area rather than a 4' by 4' area.

Ah. I just need to upgrade my vegging CFLs because I have to make room for legit garden seedlings. So I want a Metal Halide light 600 or 1000 with a wide cast so I can veg pot directly underneath and start garden seedlings around the perimeter. I'll be starting garden stuff on March 21, planting outside on Memorial Day. Here's a question for you though; should I get a 1000W HPS and switch one or both of my 600s to MH? Or keep the two 600s as HPS and go with MH 1000W? I'm guessing probably keep the 600s as HPS for a larger coverage, since flowering plants are bigger than vegging ones. Opinions welcome!

The 4 x 4 area is going to expand. I have pretty much unlimited roombongsmilie
4 x 8 sounds good!

Hey man, I would stay with your 2 600's as HPS, as yo7u said, the coverage can't be beat..... the 1000MH would put out a good amount of light for your veggin gals too....
But you know more than me bout this stuff, butt he 600's should stay IMO....

Yeah, that's what I think too, but I see lots of posts talking about how 1000s can't be beat for huge hard nuggets; but a percentage of that is just forum BS. There's also solid consensus that 600s are the most efficient way to spread high-quality light around. I'm leaning toward the 1000 MH and keeping my 600s for flowering. My plants will veg faster and bigger, so I'll be able to speed up my grows. Well, enough homing from work! I'll be home in a couple hours and I'll do an update.

This plant was getting a draft from a fan during our recent cold snap. Purple leaves. Ugh.

I bent the top over on this plant; now 5 or 6 stems are growing up from it.

Here are weirdly revegging clones. They'll figure it out eventually:lol:

mmmm.... looking good. ur girls look huge.

if you get that 1000w MH for vegging... next you'll be getting 2 more 600w HPS for flower and running in a 8' by 8' :lol:

I've been much more cautious this time and I'm pretty pleased! And it's now semi-perpetual, so I'm back-patting a lot on this grow.

Just stopping by again to check on the "pickle" buckets :) From what I've read, your pretty happy with the Hempy heh? I'm telling ya shnkrmn, my hempy grow was just about flawless.

I had the algae on top of my p'lite as well and other than the color there is no downfall to it. My grow was so almost perfect that I was scared to try and use something different and possibly interrupt how well everything was going.

Hey Boneman, I'm definitely staying with hempy for the time being. I just acquired another ten 5 gallon buckets!:hump: Growing from seed in it is too slow, but clones definitely work well.

I'm debating whether to chop. The lights come on at noon and I'll be looking with the scope, but trichs were mostly cloudy yesterday may a few clear, a few amber and I don't want these to go too far. This is day 59. The fan leaves are all yellow, but haven't dropped off, there are no new pistils, yea, I'm almost certain their day has come.

Well, no, after a half hour of fascinating microscopy (ow, my neck) I have to say it's not time to harvest. There are still lots of clear trichs and no amber that I could find anywhere. I'm just going to water em today and wait.:-|

That is the absolute worst part of my grow knowing they are very close and waiting on clear trics to go cloudy and cloudy to go amber. ahhhhhhh makes me crazy already. Sorry bout the neck bro. What I do is use a small scissor and cut off a sugar leaf right up close to the bud. Ya know those snow covered lil buggas? Yeah then I set it on the table and look at it with my 30x loupe and 420 scope. Hella better :hump:

How do you transplant from the 2gal to 5gal? Do you just pull the perlite out and put into the 5gal buckets or do you cut the plant and place in to 5gal bucket to re-root?

Im a newb so i have no idea how to transplant these.

lol... No you just place it in a bigger pot but his is alittle different because he use's all perlite I think.. So very carefully

Ok so just so I'm understandint his correctly. You take the plant out of the 2gal container will all the roots and perlite still attached and transplant into the bigger 5gal bucket?

How do you pull the plant out of the first bucket? Carefully grab by the stem and pull up, does the perlite easily come with it?
