Should I wait or harvest now?

Why do people cut all the branches off their plants? I can understand the little ones on the bottom that cant get any light but this is extreme.
I hve seen it on my own plants and clones, i still don't understand why it happens, other then less light, because my clone cabinet has just two 12w led. Is it the shape of container? One plant i had, AK48 from seed, did that, and it was in a jar like container, But here is thing, they always recover from it provided the more veg time. Thats the Key, If you flip and start flower without doing that, it will end up exactly like Sirdankz'ssss plant.
I have a clone sooo weak that there was no chance for it, but after some time, it just exploded in growth. Like healthy plant. And this more veg fix thing is also somewhere related to a transplant.
By the way, i just had a weird thought. That there is no such thing as deficiency. Its always a problem with roots. :eyesmoke:

Pretty sure most of OP’s issues were light then a bunch of other things. I can honestly say I’ve never had an issue with lanky plants when the lights were sufficient to promote proper growth and everything else being equal. I’ve used lots of different light sources in the last 30 years and still find a mix of T5’s provide great veg lighting. I have yet to try LED though but hope to have a light built soon.

You flowered 6 square inches with 600 watts? :O The good thing is you now have powered lights for your next grow. Keep on learning, we all started somewhere.

Your plants got tall and lanky, often called “bolting” or “leggy” in horticulture, due to a lack of sufficient light.

My window plant has 4-5” internode spaces while my 400-600 watt plants usually have a 1-2” internode. The plant wants to get taller to out compete other plants and foliage. If it “feels” the light level is sufficient, it will not waste energy making stem section and instead increases production of lateral shoots and fan leaf sets or flowers.

I got 3 small plants and the hps has the option to choose from 300 -600 watts. I started off with 2 cfls 600 lumens then got 4 1200 cfls to end my vegging. Another reason for the small plants I didnt veg them long at all

That’s okay. Just remember to use the maximum intensity light you can afford as close to the plants as they can handle and you will have great results.
