Sweet setup. I fuckin love the soldano, but it was too expensive. Even used. Not that they're not worth it, just more than I'm willing to spend on an amp.

Yes it's pretty sweet. I'm more a strat style guy, but only because the weight issue. They're heavy and I'm getting old. I might look into that one though, if it's lightened, that may be my ticket. Does it effect the tone in your opinion?

@srh88 , The Blues Junior is really underappreciated and underrated pedal platform IMO. I have a 2012 BJ3 tweed that has some BillM style Mods (tone stack, Mids setup to turn totally off, standby switch, audio taper Master vol, etc) done by an amp guy here in town. Great sounding amps with or without the modifications.

Agreed. I dig the blues jr. as well. I would throw an od pedal on it, if I had one. Just for a lil more kick. Not a lot though.
That soldano is a beast of an amp though. Definitely not a bedroom amp. Lol
Unless you got an attenuator.

Even the 15W BJ is way too loud for the house. I think the Soldano slo that srh88 mentioned is a sim though. I use a Fractal FM3 through various IR's into my studio speakers for most of my tones lately. Has a number of Soldano, Marshall, Mesa, etc amp sims that sound and feel pretty spot on. Still doesn't quite match the feel of a tube amp though, but I can also run it through the BJ with the master up, preamp down, to get a really good sound. It's a great time to be a guitar player.

Nice. I've bought a lot of line 6 shit through the years. Mostly because it's bedroom friendly, but they just never had that "sizzle", I craved from a tube amp. I even bought their hybrid spider valve, not realizing the preamp tubes, weren't really preamp tubes. They were for the effects loop, and something else I can't remember. It has a bogner power section, but that's not where the magic happens. The emulators are good, but just not quite there yet.
Agreed its a great time to be a guitar player. Kinda odd its dying off huh?

Im not a dentist or a lawyer. I cant afford the soldano lol. I run it through a DAW on my computer and plug the guitar right into my scarlett solo.
These pics are a couple years old. That soldano is through amplitude i think. Thats how i found it originally. Now i just run a DAW. easier to record and stuff than amplitude. Id love to own a fractal

Aww shit. I thought you had the actual head. All good though. Unless you gig, or have an isolation room/cabinet, that's too much amp.
I have an evh 5150 III stealth. I bought it to cure my craving for a tube amp. In my bedroom, I can turn it one tiny lil notch, and it's too loud. I can't push it enough, to get the tone I really want from it, without an attenuator.
I still have my spider valve/pod x3 live setup, still hooked up, and still play through it from time to time.

Lol i wish man. Even with the blues junior i can really only use it when im home, alone lol. I crank up the master and roll down the volume to like 1. I have a solid state princeton chorus i use a good bit too because it sounds good on any volume

Get an attenuator. You'll be able to push the tubes, while being able to keep it at a lower volume.

If i do all that im gonna get a 5150 lol the day i bought my junior i went for the 5150 combo. Got the junior just because the volume levels. But man that combo was sick.
I dont play shows or anything. Im just addicted to guitar stuff

That's the new 5150. They're pretty sick. I really dig the combo amps. Especially for at home, but there's nothing like the raw power you get from a 100 watt head, and 4x12 cabinet. I like to feel it, as well as hear it. Lol

I still play through my first amp occasionally. Crazy how good these actually sound compared to the cheapies today. I think I paid $225 in '87. It's been through hell and back and still kicking ass with the original steel reinforced Scorpion speaker. Made in the USA. I usually run the Bass guitars through it now.

Guitars were hard for me to afford in the eighties/ninties. No money so I only had junk hand-me-downs but I made them work. Since Im back to actively playing daily and with others Im really starting to worry myself these days now that Im no longer young and broke.... everytime I see a guitar I'm telling myself "I can buy that. The money - ahhh no prob!" I may be finding myself with a collection of underplayed and unnecessary guitars just because I can. I've already have slowed interest in "other hobbies" Nice collection!

Yea, tone chasing can get to be an expensive addiction. To make matters worse, anything musical instrument related, gets the price jacked up.

Custom built mystery guitar. Only hint is the MP on the headstock. There is a man named Mike Pedulla that made bass guitars in the area I bought it. I got this in the early 80's and was my main gigging guitar for decades (weekend hack cover bands). A luthier in the area said that Mike made a few prototype guitars in the 70's before switching to bass permanently. It's very light, neck through, with great sustain and tone. Even the pickups are home made with wood covers.
'68 Vibrolux rebuilt amp with blackface specs (I don't even know much about silver vs black but the guy that did the amp over was solid and it came out great). Light enough to carry, even for old broken guys, 2 10" speakers, 40 watts.
'72 Orange OR80, "pics only" (Orange added text for volume, bass, etc. sometime around '73 or '74). Heavy and loud, pretty much sits in my house now (would be great for someone with a studio). This amp was painted black but I found an amp builder that was able to purchase the original tolex, grill cloth and badges direct from Orange (after I sent photos of the serial number). Great work by the amp builder. Sweet clean sound, great lead tone with a tube screamer but I don't think I've ever drove the amp enough to hear the natural tube distortion.
