Is there a way to silence a duct booster fan without reducing flow?
What kind of a muffler would you all recommend?

How long is your run? Perhaps you should just get a bigger fan. I don't like boosters usually burn up too easy. As for fan mufflers I haven't used them I just filled my rooms walls with fire proof foam silent as hell.Is there a way to silence a duct booster fan without reducing flow?

Hey, I just use insulated ducting with my 6in inlinee fan. Without it its like a jet engine. Plus I sleep right next to my fans and it really is not that bad with the ducting. Hope this helps a bit.Is there a way to silence a duct booster fan without reducing flow?

Is the fan attached to the end of your rigid or flex pipe? If so... Attach a couple of feet of flex duct to the intake side. That will definitely help.About ten foot.
Do silencing methods reduce cfm?
What's the best silencer? Just a fan speed controller? How do I know once everything's said and done if I'm getting the right cfm flow?
Yes, it will quite it down. The fan is attached so far to end of a flexible piece of duct.
Would it be better to use flex pipe?
Would it still be beneficial to hang a few feet off the end?
Just 3ft will make a huge difference, if you have roomYes, it will quite it down.
Got a pic of your grow room? If you got a smart phone use the panoramic appHaven't yet got more ducting to try it, so no.
Yes, the booster fan is my main and only fan.
Dude ten foot you shouldn't need a booster fan anyway. As for silencers all work some just better than others. I use a fan controller at the lowest setting my 8 inch is silent an still pulls way more air than needed in all my roomsAbout ten foot.
