This weekend the ex, one of the kids and her wastrel boyfriend and I got to a pickup party at a winery ex and I are members of. Fairly pretentious and all that shit, but they serve food. Anyway, the caterers have these cute girls walking around with trays. Stuffed mushrooms! Fucking great, so I corner one of the little gals, she's gettin nervous til the daughter comes over.....we get a basic recipe and me and the kid want to duplicate it for dinner cuz others are gonna show.

4 boxes of crimini (brown button shrooms)
2 packs of cream cheese
garlic salt to taste
fresh fine chopped chives
fresh ground black pepper
a bunch of fresh shredded parmesian cheese

destem the shrooms

mix all the other stuff well, stuff the shrooms
bake @ 350 for 25 min, let cool

KILLER, and the stuffing is a great dip and spread
Good recipe. I suggest keeping the stems- dice em small, and stir into the cream cheese mix to stretch. Its more than rich enough.

Add some Worchester to taste, for a killer tang.

Save some of the parm, to sprinkle/brown on top.

You can add crispy-fried sausage (I use moose) for great texture and flavor but increases volume so you'll have to buy another box of shrooms. We call em stuffed mooshrooms.

All recipes are good tho because heated cheese + mushrooms always = awesomeness!

We used the stems, sauteed with garlic and parsley(diced) as a dressing for the rare tri-tip
