SIP thread -- (Sub-Irrigated Planter)

I love the top to bottom green. Ive only lost leafs I’ve chosen to pluck. I’ve been top dressing weekly-biweekly with ewc, soil, Dr earth and significantly reduced my lighting this grow which has seemed to be where I’ve going wrong. Also have been using GLR for the light. I do at times turn on an extra 400+ watts for a couple hours every now and then bc I’m tent god.
Wish I would’ve spent time training them but I was in a rush to flip for spring plants.

Dang that's a happy plant! I love the grows where I don't lose any leaves, that's pretty much my standard for a successful run, and it's happened several times since I started using SIPs

Nice. Are you going for no-till again this time?
Nah, it's too much work. I've been doing a hybrid of budzbudda's "hey dummy grow a plant" method, but in the earthbox, and instead of putting the ocean forest at the bottom, I'm using it to top dress the top, along with flower girl.

Last run, i didn't realize the top wasn't staying most. It wasn't feeding the plant real well.

This run, I'll be top watering once a week, with a weak dose of recharge.

Hell yeah, I'm excited to see how it turns out with such a simple mix! Are you planning to add any of budzbuddha's "secret ingredient" to the res? ;)

Beautiful plants, it's going to be an epic grow
Thanks. It's still basically a test, until I get all the variables down, but if I get it right, it'll be the easiest, and cheapest grow I've done, just not as sustainable.

The soil isn't all that expensive, and the flower girl and recharge will last me quite a while. Other than that, I'm just using plain tap water. No ph adjusters, no nutes.

I will be adding recharge to the res again though. Seemed to be beneficial. No data on that, but it definitely wasn't detrimental. :bigjoint:

Well they took the transplant like champs. I noticed new growth, so i added half a gallon to the res. The one furthest from the fill tube, wasn't real happy at first, but i defoliated and added the shower cap at the same time, so she drooped a bit, but she's happy now. New growth is starting to pick up, looks perky, and healthy.

Man I wish flower was as easy as veg. It's so easy to keep them green. Then flower hits, stems start to purple, leaves start to yellow, it's a struggle. Lol

Here’s a couple I have going in my 17G sips. I flipped them to 12/12 last night when I took these pics, I tied them down to level the canopy first. This is PBB

and this is Wagyu Donutz by Terp Farms. So far a very vigorous plant, I won the seeds here so wanted to make sure and post some pics of the grow.

I’ll have to go in and do some defoliation today on the lower branches, I usually leave the leaves and just take the branches that won’t make it to the canopy.
