Some more broken branches. Fimming seems to make them more vulnerable to breaking. I don't believe I'll do that next year. I've never had so many broken limbs. Here's some of the latest.
I'll label these Heartbreaker, lol :leaf:

great early smoke my man!... Good times

not that you needed it right... but at least have a go at it.

:joint::peace:

Sprayed today with spinosad, probably the last time. I'm starting to see some getting closer to harvest. A pretty nice crop considering the hardships this summer threw at me. Just collected another broken branch and found some hanging that I collected yesterday, hung up off the ground, and forgot about. WTF!!! lol, I need to wait until after I finish work before baking.

It might take a few posts to get everyone in so bear with me. bongsmilie

Thanks for the comment man.

I love seeing your plants. They are fantastic looking. Im supprised you dont have hore cracked branches with all that weight. Mine started twisting too where the bud weight twisted the branch tops down. I had to tie them up.

I think I am going to tie mine down a little next year. Love your shroom collection too. Nice bonus to your excursions.

You should get quit a bit from all those plants. Do you put them all in quart jars? Thats alot of jars.

Very nice Brother Slab!!
Most excellent and outstanding!!!!

It's so nice being able to enjoy the fruits of your labors, having the season come to an end.

Personally, I derive so much more pleasure from smoking and consuming dankness that I've grown myself. You just can't beat it!! And you know exactly what the fuck went into it, so you know you have a nice, clean product.

Team America, fuck yeah!!!

Lovin your pics as always!!

Props bro!!:peace:

slab head. looks good. u sure make me wish i could grow outside again but i think it would kill me to many health problems. my hat is off to you. i know the labor you are going through

Thanks genfranco, man I can't wait to try out my bubble bags. How much did you run through that first batch? It looked like a good first run. I read somewhere that the 5 gal bags would handle about 200 grams of trim but that doesn't seem like a lot at a time.

Thanks GT. I think the dry spell I had might have made them more brittle and crack prone but those fat heavy buds are sure stressing the branches to their limit. ha! I gotta be pretty discreet with any ties I use to blend in so I pretty much left them alone except the ones I taped up after cracking. Yeah I've been using qt jars but looking to go with a bigger size. Yes it does take a bunch of them. I think I'm already sitting on a dozen and that's just with the casualties I collected. They are super sticky and getting a smooth smokable cure already. I've been looking at trying the TH Seeds Chocolate Chunk for my spring clones. bongsmilie But then the White Widow has always interested me. lol

Very nice finish. I was wondering how your plants held up out there with last weeks downpour - glad to see they stayed strong. bongsmilie

Thank you Iron Lion. I did lose a couple of buds to rot but most are gonna make the trip. They ain't done yet, gonna get a bit more amber on the trichs before I harvest. Hang around and check it out. :peace:

Thanks Riz, that means a lot coming from a fellow guerilla grower. You understand how much work goes into it. It takes more than a gallon of gas. hahaha I can't wait to see how your 10000w indoor project turns out. I've been watching.

You know it Southern. Some days I wonder how much longer I'll be able to do it. The bone spurs I suffer from are almost too painful at times but knowing I'm getting better meds keeps me going. I'd love to have a greenhouse or a fat garden right there in my backyard. Maybe one day... huh?

And to all the visitors that have checked out my grow; thanks for taking a slice of time out of your day to see how a poor boy farms. lol :joint:

Stay tuned, the best is yet to come. :leaf:

You knw what bud... I eye balled it .. I guess i didnt even remember reading that part. I do recommend an electric mixer like i did it... cause i would hate doing this by hand and an egg beater small thing they show on the you tube videos doesnt get down to the bottom...but whatver...

honestly man... I ran the same stuff twice and got just about the same on the first run than the 2nd run ...so make sure you dont just do it 1 time.

incorporate the use of a hose if you can... help collect all the hash towards the middle when your pulling the bags up and lets your rinse the side walls in shit... and when you are pulling on the first bag you can rinse the ice and bud to make sure it all goes down..

God it was soo much fun...

cant wait to do it again with more trim... god knows i have a bunch.

I hear that! I was gonna mix mine up in a 120 quart ice chest and then pour the slurry into my bags. I have one of the large metal grout stirrers to put on my 1 HP drill so didn't want to knick a bag. Ouch! Yeah I've done it using my hands and improvised stirrers and that just don't cut it. It don't take long for your hands to go numb. I've got too much trim and pulled plants to process by hand. ha, what a problem to have. The hose idea sounds perfect, thanks for that tip.

slab you are the man. awesome read/ awesome grow. much props!

guitarzan420, Thanks for checking out my little garden. It's always nice to hear someone notice and speak up.

I'll try to keep the journal up to date during the harvest and processing with pics but it will get busy so bear with me.bongsmilie

I just got finished reading your journal and it was a great read. I was reading you did some super cropping, topping and fimming. I have done a lot of super cropping so I thought I would give you something to try next year when you get started again. It called crimping its a form of super cropping that I have found best for getting very thick branches and stalks, it also helps bush them out and hold heavier buds. Here is the best description I could find on it.

Crimping
Crimping is an advanced technique whereby you break the inner herd of the plant without damaging the outer, which is where all the plants strength comes from. Break open the stalk of a cannabis plant and you'll notice immediately the hard, outer herd. This is where textiles come from. The soft inner, lighter colored material is pure cellulose - the phloem and xylem.

iha03111-2.jpg

In vascular plants, phloem is the living tissue that carries organic nutrients, particularly sucrose, a sugar, to all parts of the plant where needed. In trees, the phloem is the innermost layer of the bark, hence the name, derived from the Greek word φλοιος (phloios) for "bark". The phloem is mainly concerned with the transport of glucose and starch made during photosynthesis.

The plant passes water and nutrients cell to cell through this network of cellulose. Breaking the plant's inner walls will cause it to rebuild. But it rebuilds these networks better than they were before; it rebuilds so fast (under good growth conditions) that 24 hours later the plant is using the new highways and it's increased capacity for moving water and nutrients.

This technique can begin as early as the seedling stage. Twisting the plant gently, using both hands so you don't pull on it's roots. Work each of the plants branches every 2", up to once week. Do this by grasping the spot to be treated with two fingers of each hand. Use one hand to stabilize, while the other gently, slowly twists. Or you can twist with both hands in opposite directions, slowly until you feel a slight snap. When the plant's get heartier you will actually be able to hear it.
On smaller branches, you do not need to twist, as firm finger pressure will rupture the herd.

You can do this from a seedling all the way up to right before you flower. You will hear a snap or in younger growth you will feel it give under pressure of a firm pinch, and when it heals you will get a knuckle there

I think this will help with your plants breaking and falling over because I have never had branches as strong as when I did this and the more you do it the thicker and stronger they get. Anyways great grow I can't wait to see the end result and I hope this helps with future grows.:peace:

nickbbad, that's interesting man. I'm always up for trying something new. While I'm certainly not knocking FIMMing or Supercropping as I see the benefits for an indoor grow, I just don't think it best for a guerrila style grow. Just too much hanging out there when the big storms come during the bud season. And plus I didn't have any Supercropped branches break at the knot, everything broke from the FIMMed junction at the main stem.
Thanks for that technique, I'll see about trying it some next year. :leaf:

bro you and me both should have had them grow through metal (in your case green) fencing... it would have been pretty strong wind bas say 1 to 2 feet above ground lvl.. like you said... next yr!!! bongsmilie
