School has been consuming my life. My clones that were in that hood thingy died, the hood wasnt tall enough and the tops were just soaking in the condensation. My two clones in the 2 liter are doing amazing. From here on out, the 2 liter will be my cloning method! I'll use four 2 liters with 2 clones in each.

I just unscrew the top when I need to let air out.
man, I know how it is. I have been struggling in my semiconductors class...bipolar junction transistors...shit is so hard. Networking II is a breeze, as I am great with a computer. I only have another few months before I have my associates in Electrical Engineering, but am thinking of getting my bachelors in IT. Thanks for posting the method for the bottle cloning. I will try that if my new tray and dome don't work out. My plants revived and became a healthy green again once I sprayed them with B1 and water. It only took eight hours for them to show marked improvement. I went to Home Depot today and bought some cloning powder because I freaking hate the gel. I think I am in the clear with a couple from the first batch. They are still green and perky after four days. I removed a couple that weren't, however.

Hey man, just caught up from the begining. Got some la cheese too lol. Lookin good man
Thanks for dropping by and appreciate the compliments. It seems to be a decent strain to grow thus far. I need some three gallon pots to put them in like my Sleestacks.

Sleestack 1 is looking okay again after I tore off one of the branches and is responding well to the LST. I made another tiedown of one of the branches. Sleestack 2 on the other hand is an absolutely beautiful plant. It is enormous and healthy. I cannot even imagine what the yield and size will be if I let it go 60 days in veg. I have decided that will be my cutoff. I will be adding a personal screen and start the scrog here in the next couple days. Cheeses look decent. I need to transplant into the new containers I bought for $.50.

It's been a few days since I have posted and there are a few new things to tell about. I got tired of the ghetto buckets. I tried to go cheap and use stuff that I had laying around (ie coffee can & milk jug). Got to figure that after you cut the top off a milk jug, you might have a little over 1/2 gallon left and that is not enough to have a decent sized plant that will yield anything decent. And the coffee can....DO NOT use them! It might have been a full gallon and that might be fine for some, but again, my growth was stagnating. It might would have continued to be sufficient, but I wanted to transplant and uh oh...it doesn't want to come out. I took a knife and ran it around the sides of the can and it still wouldn't budge. I ended up having rip over half of the root mass away. That's some hardcore root pruning in ghetto fabulous fashion.

Well see if Cheese 2 (2nd above) can survive transplant shock and having half of it's roots ripped away. The Sleestacks on the other hand have been in their nice, cozy three gallon pots for a while now and it's showing. Sleestack 1 is recovering from getting it's biggest branch ripped off and is looking good again. Sleestack 2 on the other hand is a monster. I did some more tie-downs today. Pics below are before and after + a group photo of all five plants.

those confid cheese will be fine... i have the beans n waitin on em so im def curious. may snag a 5 pk of cheese quake while i can, here in town. btw - nice job training/LST whatever style per se, real compact and low height. yeah, if one indiv. plant is stressed, i put it off to the side resting from light n fan, works wonders in just a day or two.
keep it cheesey.

Looks great FH!!!!! love that LST work!!! Rep for it all!!!! keep it green bro!
thanks for the props! I am about to put it in a scrog after I pull some clones here in a week or so.

thanks. I am vegging under a 125W Flouro, so light intensity is not an issue. It actually looked good when I checked this morning. I use AZOMITE and I cannot recommend this stuff enough. If used during transplant with water, there will not be any shock. It has saved me on more than one occasion. just gotta watch the pH.

Bad news, no clones. I blame the rockwool and my inexperience using it. I found out that what I used a few years back was Oasis cubes. I always got great results. I don't think enough air got to them. I also used gel and I don't like that either. Next attempt will be rapid rooters and I will attempt that in a week or so. If anyone has used rapid rooters, do they come ready to go? or do they need to be prepped? If that fails, I will buy Oasis cubes.

I use Rapid rooters, they are good to go... mine come in a sheet, just cut off a cube and your ready! although I always poke the hole open a bit more with pointy scissors. then I spray water on the cube and insert the clipping. good luck with them.

I'm all about the organic plugs, I use root riot and I'm sure the rapid rooters are similar. The ones I use are already moistened and they are ready out the bag. Got 100 for $15.

okay. I actually bought a ten pack of them a few days back and I knew they were moist, but was not sure if they were wet enough. Thanks for the advice.

100 for that price is excellent. So, from what you and Stoney are telling me is that they are ready to go.

:idea:Okay, so I have decided to conduct an experiment to see which method I like better between rapid rooters and floral foam (Oasis). But first I would like to inform anyone who has used and liked or would like to use Oasis cubes for cloning that there is a cheaper way than going to an indoor gardening store. I went to the local florist and bought a block of live plant Oasis. Now the hydro stores have the long flat blocks with the cuts and hole in it for a minimum of ten bucks. I bought a green block (live plant) for five bucks and can cut it how I want it. Check it.

Oasis Floral Foam 001.jpg

Experiment: I will take two clones off of each Sleestack. I will use them because they are in great shape. The plastic trays that the rapid rooters go into will be cut in a group of 2 rows of 3 (2x3). I will place two rapid rooters in the tray in spots row1, spot1 and row2, spot3 so they are spaced enough, but not too much. The next tray spacing will be the same, but will hold the floral foam I cut to fit in the rapid rooter tray. 1 clone off each plant in each tray. I have already soaked the floral foam and cut it to fit. Tomorrow I will show my procedure.

This is a great experiment!!! I can't wait to see the results!!! i may be buying some oasis the next time i buy cloning media. I have a joint all spun up to see this clone show!!!!

The way one uses a brand new thin razor blade and how the cutting is scraped and carefully selected between nodes, cleaned up, etc... all this has a lot to do w/ if a cutting ends up rotting or not. the clonex gel has worked like a charm. i'm sure any powder is just fine. i never use any hormone when i use the aeroponic mist system which is def the preferred method. the low-tech translucent plastic bins (from anywhere) are awesome, cheap, portable and very effective once u get them down.

Is the Oasis product exactly like this floral foam... what the heck is floral foam made of really? toxicity? Porosity - Is it made to hold too much h2o?

i've used rockwool cubes in a dome w/ good passive air circ, moderate humidity. try throw-away plastic gloves and weak hydrogen peroxide to sanitize your dome (any clear plastic bin). florescent bulbs directly above, 20-24 hrs. heat mat, without baking, will increase your rooting to as fast as 1 week, w/ the easiest to root. i also like jiffy seven pucks and any coco product.

That block looks cool, I beg you could get a lot of 'plugs' from it.

Let's see how this little experiment pans out bongsmiliebongsmilie

I am anxious to see myself

thanks for the info. I never use to have a problem cloning. I used what I thought at the time was rockwool, a cutting of any size/amount of nodes, and miracle grow rooting powder. I took around twenty clones that summer and only two failed. I also never scraped the cutting and I always used scissors. Now, I am following all these methods that supposedly work and am failing. I found out what I used in the past was not rockwool, but Oasis cubes. Oasis is floral foam. There are two kinds of floral foam you can get from a florist. There is one for fake plants and arrangements that is made from polyurethane and one for live plants which is Oasis (cant remember it's makeup). It is made for live arrangements, so it definitely isn't toxic. I had no pH problems. It holds water well, but is also extremely porous. I let mine sit for a day and dry out a bit.

I love oasis. It is a little messy, but it's easy to manipulate, holds water, and is porous. I cut my cubes into the shape of the rapid rooters.

Whats up? I started a new thread since I'm no longer using the cfl's. I lost all my clones except the 2 in the bottle. They rooted after 7 days. Next time i'm using a milk carton to do four at a time. Here's the link https://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/429482-sleestack-confidential-cheese-purple-maroc.html#post5685132
Well, at least you had a couple make it. I am doing a cloning test experiment. I will stop by your page.

Well, everyone. So far so good. I took the clones Thursday afternoon and they still look lively. I will show the pics tomorrow. I altered the experiment. I took 8 or 9 instead of the four. All but two are in rapid rooters. Two are in the floral foam, which I cut in to shape of the trays. One of those is a sleestack and one is the top off of a CoCheese. I am freaking exhausted from work, so I will continue this tomorrow.

Subbed up, btw!!
Thanks Supa. Glad to see you here and that you will be following. Your rapid rooters look great. They do look much wetter than mine. How saturated do you keep your plugs? Mine are just damp, the way they came in the bags.
