Glad to be here Free! I have always gave my rapid rooters a soak first then plant seed or clone in them. Under the right amount of light, they tend to dry out fast, so I leave a very small amount at the bottom of whatever they're in. Those roots I posted took about 7 days to start and three more to explode like that!

ATB!!

I have had conflicting reports. Some have said to leave them they way they come because they are damp, but not soaking. I have had mine under the dome since Thursday and haven't noticed anything yet. I don't think they are wet enough. I am gonna take a couple more when I get some better branching and pre-soak the cubes this time instead of just leaving them damp.

Free, I know people say this and that, but you Saw my results..... That's why I chimed in with the pics, to Show you how they work with my technique.
Like I said, although they are damp when they come out the bag, they will dry out fast, so I keep them moist with clean water only..... Don't fret, you can still salvage what you have, just add water to the rooter all the way around it, and wait it out Brotha... Hope that helps, ATB!

Thanks man. When I used to clone with Oasis cubes, they were always saturated. I used to never have a clone fail, now I cant seem to get one to make it. What works for others doesn't work for me. My clones haven't died, but they haven't rooted yet. They are only 6 days old, but I used to have them rooted by now.

Just keep the rooters wet, and it will come along as long as the rest of the cloning atmosphere is in check...

I got rid of two clones on day four. They were withered and even though they might have made it, it might would have taken a couple of weeks. The two floral foam clones haven't rooted yet, but one is the top off of a plant and the stem is thick. I did get two to root. The rapid rooters responded once I saturated them with some water and Thrive Alive B1. I am gonna try again to get these pictures uploaded.Clones Day 4.jpg

The pic of all of the clones was day 4 and the two rooted clones was today, which is day 8. I threw out the two in the very center that have the light green/yellow tint. I will be planting the other two tomorrow in 1 gallon buckets and leave them in the cloning bin.

I have seen enough growth out of the two Sleestacks, so now I am about to build an individual screen for each and start the scrog. I will then give it some time to fill the screen at the same time turning back the lights little by little until flower. I got my two Sleestack clones and that was why I was waiting to switch to the HPS and flower. Sleestack 2 is a great pheno and I didn't want to lose her by not getting a clone. Mission accomplished. Here is how they look now. I topped the CoCheese, which I am trying to clone in the Floral Foam. Here are the pics.

Tomorrow I build the screens for the scrog. They have filled back in nicely after taking the clones. The branching looks good on both Sleestacks. I will give them a chance to fill the screen and then flip the switch. The CoCheese I topped is starting to grow, but the other CoCheese (not pictured) is very scrawny. I have already scaled back the lights from 20 hour days to 18. This week I will go to 16. Here are the pics.

lookin good FH!!! I need to make a mental note here.. I like the way you did the LST just to promote the new growth to prepare it for the screen. I need to try this when i use my wire hats as a scrog. I never thought about the LST first. but again man, those girls are happy and healthy!!! keep up the great work!!!

I wish I would have done this the first time around. I like your wire hat idea. I am sure it will be great once you fine tune it. You definitely have the skills and creativity to make it work. Thanks for the compliments.

yes, I did have some eleven point leaves. I also had some with 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. I almost thought it was some kind of mutant hybrid. I tried to take a clones in flower, but it was too far gone. The Kandy Kush's buds were not as compact and nice looking as the Gum, but the high was much better IMO. I liked the taste of the KK better as well.
Looking great Free!
Thanks alot bud.

I figured I would put one last picture update before I add the screens. The other CoCheese is not pictured, but is doing okay.

I am starting to stress out. I have to grow in my attic, which is why I scrog/lst. I live in a triplex that is very small and have a baby girl, so there are no extra closets or rooms. It wasn't an issue in the winter because I had a HPS that kept it warm during "day" and a little heater fan to keep it warm at "night." Cooling is another story all together and it's becoming crunch time. Plants are already showing signs of heat stress and it's only May. I plan on getting some radiant barrier, but I need something to cool it temporarily until then. Any help would be appreciated. I have the exhaust fan sucking some of the heat out of the sealed off room, but the air surrounding it is hot, so it's not really helping.

Craigslist for a portable a/c is about the only way out I see, Free. Not the cheapest, but you could luck up...I saw one for $120 once.
Heat is a bitch in the summer w/o being in the attic, so I feel your pain. I run an 8" fan cooling 1 600, and still run in the upper 70's.
Either way, you're a resourceful guy, I'm sure you'll work it out.... ATB!

If u can, def build a room w/in your attic, with insulation board or at least 2 layers of plastic. I can't imagine surviving the crushing summer heat in an attic without an A/C. A new in-room one will run ya about 300+. Insulate all of the exhaust tube. Try the home improvement stores. Expensive, but it would be more than you need. Plants shut-down above 85.

I've also heard something about home-made swamp coolers. Evaporative water cools the air.
Also, can you air condition below (in your home) and suck the A/C upwards somehow?
