Possibly, but as I said, I haven't found a smell proof container. I've bought multiple different glass jars along the years and even with the rubber gasket they reek of weed.

Every Kilner jar I buy must be defective then. Cause it does leave a smell in the cupboard where they are stored. I now use grove bags. Much cheaper, easier to store, produce a better product and completely smell proof so far!

More likely the lids If mason jars weren't 100% airtight, the entire canning process wouldn't be possible. I have a few drawers full of jars and there's no smell whatsoever
