dunno about the smell as all strains vary but id say dry atleast a week or 2 and then maybe cure for another 2 or so

so when you hang them upside down thats the drying out part and when you put them in the jars thats the curing

Denser buds should be dried and cured in repeated steps.

Part of curing is forcing the bud to spread out the remaining moisture. Standard drying will dry from the outside inward. Curing redistributes the moisture evenly. Personally, I'd do a week of each, back and forth, until the bud is dry but won't crumble in your hands.

the dryen depends on how thick and dence your buds are, if your buds are airy and little they will dry real quick, hang them in the dark, temp, and humidy needs to be in check,
just keep checking on them, if they feel dry to the touch, then put in jars close lid , open the lid couple times a day , they will feel wet again when put in jars, (if not real dry when put in their to begin with). Buy Jorge Cervantes ~ Marijuana Bible...Google it !!

Spot on... like a fine wine weed has to be "cured"/"matured" in airtight enviroment without any moisture, (Preferably in a dark cool space). Hence why you MUST dry before curing...

It's chlorophyll that you smell. Chlorophyll molecules make plants green and are necessary for photosynthesis.

Have you noticed the smell a day or two after cutting the grass? Probably not. Same thing here.

Once the drying is complete most of the smell dissipates. Curing will take it from there. Before long you will have a delicious smelling, and tasting, harvest.

Congratulations on your harvest.

Good luck and good growing.
