Smile And Orange Bud in Waterfarm ! 600w 4x4 (1st grow)

hey listen marv the number one rule is dont let anyone tell u how to do your grow. get a couple of runs under your belt and go from there. gradually build up in size but make sure u have a solid goal to work to so your not wasting time and effort on something that doesnt fit in with your end goal. also what your talking about sounds a lot like sea of green. most people doing sog set ups run flood and drain tables for the simplicity when running many plants. dont get caught up in thinking waterfarms are the be all and end all. yes they are great but most other styles of hydroponics work just as well when done right.

most of all just have fun. and dont be afraid to try something different if nobody did anything differently we would all still be growing outdoors using chook poo. (fr the record still a great way to grow)

Big up to that forgetiwashere. I do think that in a givin space, SOG could potentially yield more then scrog. But for me the thing is plant numbers. I want to keep mine to a minimum, but still yield big. It is a lot of watts ill be running, but it will make up for it self easy. and ya marv, i was just checking that 12/12 thread out 2 days ago. killer.

Here is the daily update. So since training them the plants have responded quite well, especially the orange who use to be smaller then the smile but is now 1,5x its size. So everything seems to be going well. Plants have stabilize at 800 ppm and that is about it nothing more to add.

I'm going to superglue to little piece on the waterfarm this week and put the screen over the ladies.

I was afraid mine was going to be too. by the way I had a bit of a problem with the training. I mean the point of scrogging if to get one head in every little square. But since I have long ass main stem thanks to my low light start I have a lot of room to train the main stem. Should I make go around in a circle ? or just bend it once like I did and continue that way leaving the main stem in one direction ?

i say just maker her go one way. Soon another will think they are the main stem, and they will get the same treatment, lol. But again, its all up to you. You could make her heart shaped if you want to.

yeah i agree head in one direction before long u will have branches going everywhere and if you go in a circle it will probably just get in the way. and i wouldnt worry too much about trying to get a bud in every square just focus on trying to keep everything evenly spaced. it will fill out faster than you realise

Thanks, so I did as told and apparently my ladies turn into lettuce ! Here is a picture update ! The orange bud is growing like crazy ! drinking almost 1 galleon per day.

Im doing a WF for the first time too no scrog though no room.

lol you got room to grow you got room to scrog... Makes the biggest difference when space is limited actually. lol im just all scrog all the time arnt i?

Sorry for not updating for a while but I was quite busy with all that snow fall over here. So my girls are almost out of hand ! They grew big ! You can see my feet on the pictures and I wear size 13 shoes (My feet are 1 feet). So the training has been going real good. I know I need to put the screen down... I'm supposed to do it tomorrow. I couldn't put it on before because I didn't superglue the little piece on the waterfarm and I didn't have enough rope to hang the screen. As you can see the orange bud grew bigger then the smile. Not sure in which direction to put my ___/ scrog. The orange bud might grow bigger in the end, but I read the smile has the reputation of doubling even tripling in size during flowering. Otherwise I'm building a veg cabinet with a 250w Mh bulb which I'll be using to grow 2 amnezia plant 12/12 from seeds and transfer them right away in my 4x4 when I harvest my present grow. I thought it was a good idea since amnesia needs 14 to 15 flowering week instead of 8 to 9 and I don't have that much room in my veg cabinet (2x3x5). So if I start them soon, since I'm going to turn my two ladies over here real soon too.( I was planing on turning them on Sunday maximum. At the rate they are growing they might get too big real fast.) I'll be getting another harvest 1 month and a half after my first one. I'm in a hurry to grow those cause at the same time I have a secret project of reviving a long lost strain who made my people famous internationally two decades ago !!!!!!!! I don't want to say more for the moment but in 2-3 months you'll see me coming out with a interesting journal !

i have learned a lot from it and i will be doing things differently next time but hey thats what its all about. its also one of the things i love about this hobby. every one evolves in different directions depending on there own experiences and tastes so there really is so much versatility.

your plants are looking very healthy and nice they are going to be superb. i cant wait to see them flower. i particularly like the sounds of orange bud yum

it's all about giving love to the plants ! the more you love them the more they will give you love back by growing

so here we are, the screen is finally in place ! I guess I take back my turning them to 12/12 by Sunday... they need at least another week of vegging after this one. So I finally hit the ppm bar ! 950 was too much for them and they are starting to drink only water. So I just give them fresh water with 5.0 ph for the next day or two and see how they like that. then we will go back to 950 and see if its better. If not I'll lower them ppms to 800. They drink about 2 inchs per day of water. Almost a galleon per day I might say !
Otherwise my cat had a feast on the leaf I had to cut...

Just try to give them only what they want. Could be one wants 825 and the other wants 900 ( or what ever the numbers are ). Let them tell you. Looks really good though man. Should be a sweet screen!
