So i got the HPS bulb, But now i need a ballast where can i get a cheap one???

I don't think that foil will get in the way of flowering specifically, it's just an all around no-no. The cheapest most effective way coat a growroom is to just use flat white paint and at least 2 coats. If you must cover something up then I'ld go with the mylar.

What strain are you growing?
 
Foil concentrates light and heat on one spot, soon enough that spot on your plant will start to burn, mirrors do the same thing
mylar is great
 
ok ive got it hooked upp now, i still have the cfls in there though. So its one 70w hps, 2 cfls, 1 dual florescent light fixture, and 1 more florescent light. Think i got enough light?
 
Ok so here you can see the dual florescent light fixture and the hps fixture, and you can also see the extra florescent light along with the cfls. what do you think?

Oh yea haha i honestly dont know what strain it is, but it looks delicious ill tell you that much. Im hoping that this light set up will increase my yield
 
Cheapest option is to buy a HPS floodlight off ebay. They come with the lamp as well and usually are priced about half that of a hydro ballast. Only thing is they are not switchable between MH/HPS.
 
hell yeah man, looks like some killer. I'ld say you should be good with what you have set-up.

what nutes are you using if you don't mind me asking.
 
Nutes? are you talking about the cfls? lol sorry, i am new to this incase you havent noticed. I do catch on very quickly though.

I was talking about what nutrients (plant food) you use, if any. You've done a really good job with what you've got!
 
oh ok. im using 15-30-15 Peters professional plant food. for flowering. I used FTD Tropical Plant food which is 20-6-16 for the veg cycle. And that stuff worked real good. The stuff i used for flowering works good too, but i added some shit like cow shit and wood ashes for extra nutrition. That has always worked for me though.
 
well im not sure yet, cuz i want to keep the plant going for as long as i can. But if i start seeing amber colored trichomes, and lots of darkened hairs on the plant. Then ill prolly harvest alot sooner.

What does that do? oh i just remembered i heard from someone that when you harvest to pull the entire rootball out, then wash all the soil off so you just have clean roots, then to hang the plant up (roots and all) and spray the roots and a little bit of the buds with sugar water. Now i heard this and i was like what the hell does that do? and here supposidly it pushes the remaining thc out of the stem and into the buds. Has anyone ever told you something like that b4?

I just copped a 600w HPS MH complete growlight system including 600w digitalgreenhouse digital ballast, 1 HPS bulb, 1 MH bulb, batwing reflector, high lo hangers, and free timer for $170 bucks total.

You can find good deals on Ebay man, you just gotta look for them, and then bullshit with the seller for a little while. I got lucky and found a misprinted advertisment, and when i bought it, i just called to make sure it included everything, and they were bitchin n moanin for a couple days, but in the end they just made me pay an extra couple bucks, n i basically saved $150 bucks on the ballast. Dont give up lookin n settle on home depot. You can find good deals bro. they are out there, i promise u.

Yeah, you can do that. What I do is I'll add molasses the last week of flowering. -(although you can do this the entire lifespan of the plant)-
This raises sugar levels and increases resin yield.

Instead of hanging the entire plant as a whole, I would clip the stalks containing the colas and hang them individually on a hanger or a string like so.....
