also this is targeted to the beginner have you read my entire post. and sorry it was my mistake to say 12x5 i included work around space but yes in a 12x5 room you can fit 2 lights and a 4x8 tray spacing with room to work around.
any my ideal efficency if we just talk about grow space is 9 lights in rows of 3 and plants within a 12x12 square. sorry i havent been on to respond to this to let it go out of hand but read my post again with this new info and see my logic. im really not disagreeing with you but when it comes to forums and information there might be some left out stuff. but i hope you get my point now
and i said minimum which means a noob ass grower doing 1 lb per light 2 lights per 12x5 room which i neglected to state is using a 4x8 plant space. i would get 12 lbs from those theoretical rooms with total of 6 lights

Your sure the hell not going to get 18 pounds either in that space i would use 3 1 k's looking at size of plants your also looking @ 2 oz to maybe couple 3 oz plants if your lucky pending on strain as well but that is dry weight remember that is pulling 8 oz wet plants or 12 oz and sorry your really not going to get them from 2 foot plants

I pulled 5 pounds off my last run in a 12x5 space not running sog. I have fliped two other rooms same space. Im running sog i will get 5.5 to 6 a room. Times that by 3.
Its all on strain and lighting just like you mentioned

And i was pulling qp dry on some of them. 2.5 and 3.3 on the rest.
actually he can he is talking about 3 lights in 12x5 which actual plant space is 12x4 x 3 rooms. meaning 3 lights per room total 9 lights x 2lbs per light

Im harvesting 90 plants 10 days from now. Ill post my dry wieght. Even if its shitty ill post the truth. 90 plants under 4800 watts hps hortilux. Recipe 420 soil in 2 gal pots. The soil sucks btw i just tryed it cause they were out of roots organic. Im aiming for 1 ounce a plant.
hey mtsticky can you reply to me if i cleared it up for you? cause everything you've said so far i am in agreement. just hoping you get my point with me trying to clear things up a bit

i just realized this post. is there a table thats 5' wide and are you actually gonna use 6 lights in that space? i would assume you use 3 1000 watters and by that math you arent getting 2 lbs per light

no im not getting 2 a light. I have before when i was running 1 liggt per 4x4 table. Im running 3 1ks on the out side and 3 600s on the inside closest to the panda film. Im pulling a little over one unit a light

when i first setup the room i wasnt paying for the electric thats why my room is setup the way it is. I was going to run 6k over 12x5 space lol

Just saying to my understanding he is using 6000 watts in 12 x 5 ????? i have done stupid grows Sogs multiple room 18,000 watts etc with min 5 week veg from clones trained here are 2 week clones in 5 gallon medums kinda give you a idea final totes 34 gallons pulling 14 - 18 oz dry per plant ,, i have went away from sog growing as your only really harvesting half of plant lower half is never compete its behind from over crowding etc ,, so in reality Sogs are good if you want lower larf under developed buds to make hash/ oil .. cause its not grade A bud
When i did sog grows i was pullling on average 7 pounds with 3 k's umbrella style parabolic, open hoods ..
i went away from sog grows and went to lower plant counts scrog 5 x 15 and pulling 7 - 7 3/4 pounds per 3 k
People tend to think more plants = more yield in real world settings that is not the case as well as adding more wattage i have friends that done the same thing and to there disappointment yields went down wild but true

If I flip sour diesel at 6 inches, by the time its done stretching it is about 4 feet tall and easily yielding more than 5 oz per plant(always 4 plants under 1000w). Its really not possible to tell people what they're gonna pull. I dont even know how much I'm gonna get most of the time, and its right in front of me.
well yeah you can but you cant. sour d is sativa that stretches so unless you know how to tame it its a lot of work. indicas are much easier.
well the thing with more plant count is you dont need to veg as long i can probably get away vegging for 4 days just for root to take hold and then flower. if anything i can use even more plant count and just go straight to flower and have bunch of single colas with perfect spacing and control. that is that advantage of plant count. more harvest per year and easier minipulation of plant spacing for sog
