soil and DWC

i have a nice plant in soil its a clone in a tims cup and the roots are starting to grow out the bottom can i take that and put it in the cup for a dwc with the tims cup and let the roots grow down in to the 5 gal pot with some air stones? or will i get root rot or will the dif phs kill her cuz i know soil and hydro ph are not the same

Yes, you can take a plant from soil and transplant it to a hydro system....as long as it's not too far along in the veg stage. The sooner the better/easier it will be to do. So, go for it.

i mean with out trans planting it from the soil like keep it in the pot but the roots that hang out put them in to a dwc

what about starting seeds in coco? I figured if you can do soil w/ dwc maybe you could do coco
 
bad idea the soil will clog and contaminate the system - take the plants out of dirt and wash the roots carefully and thoroughly with ph adjusted water . ( ph is lower for hydro so maybe wash with neutral ph'd water to avoid shock ) it will all work though .
