just trying to get an idea of what fertilizers I need for a small indoor first time grow. I'll be using soil but I can't decide if I should get fox farm nutrients or if there is something else that would be way more worth the money. Just a noob ass question that's been asked a million times, what fertilizers do u guys recommend for small indoor soil grows?

Ionic? Seems legit......
I will definitely check into it thanks for the response!

This is what i'm using.
looks fuckin legit heard good things about all these products. Quick question, for you on the ph up and down. If i RO my water is that safe to use to adjust the ph every watering? say i water 3 times a week using nutrients one of those times. so for the other 2 waterings its safe to adjust the ph with the 'up' and 'down'? off topic from my original question but i am curious to know.

just ph your gallon or whatever once it will stay that ph, only ph again with a new container of water. and never add ph up to water you already added ph down too just dump some out and add more water if you go to far one way or the other. your only supposed to feed with every other watering and start with like 1/4 or 1/2, i'm paranoid so i started with 1/8 on my seedlings and they're not burning. they say no nutes for a couple of weeks with new seedlings and no nutes for a week or two after you transplant unless your using soil without any nutes. be careful with seedlings especially not to over water i almost murdered mine at first with too much. i guess the nutes can kill your bacteria if you add any too so gotta be careful. I thought it woudl be easy but it's just not. lol

Damn that's 10 different items your going to juggle, some are necessary some a not. All of the pH adjustments are not really necessary if you're growing soil. You need to keep it simple the first time

Since you are just starting and you said a small indoor grow ( assuming 1 or 2 small plants). Why not get some fox farms soil and use happy frog fruit and flower? It is cheap and will get you through your first grow. You won't need a PH pen and ph solutions and you won't need several bottles of nutrients.

Or check out Lucas Formula.
http://lucasformula.com/ The Floranova Bloom doesn't cost that much.

It's easy to go overboard with nutrients and spend a bunch of money on things you don't need. Better to spend the money on good lights or a fan and carbon filter.

Canna veg and bloom bottles and ph kit is all you need to get started to keep things simple

Keep it simple! That is my advice. Like Sunny said that it is easy to go overboard. Don't spend money on All kinds of boosters, They don't do much for you. I would Invest more on lights, carbon, simple grow, bloom, Magnesium supplement and Kelp supplement then you are all set. Kelp is not necessary, however that is what I use.

PH your water before pouring into your pots. I don't see the point of trying to PH the soil.

Day 12, looking like happy plants to me. I don't think it's overboard. I've seen much worse from first time growers.

Thank you everyone for the advice!

I do plan on investing in a good filter and fan. And yes it is easy to get a clouded judgement on what products are really necessary and what are not for a beginner like myself.

just read the bottle, most people start them off with 1/4-1/2 of a dose to prevent burning then work it up to what the bottle recommends. i'm still in seedlings so i started with 1/8 and they didn't burn. i don't keep a tub of water, i'd be afraid it might go stale on me and start growing stuff i don't want in it, i mix up 2 gallons at a time and when i'm needing more i'll mix them up a day or two before i need them to prevent getting a anything growing in the water that's detrimental to the plants health. sorry that was an edit just re-read it and thought i should throw that in. This is coming from a paranoid noob with anxiety disorder to boot though. When you ask something sometimes your going to get 8 different opinions that conflict. Draw your best conclusion, try it and if it doesn't work change it. Experience beats advice. MOST of the people on the forums won't steer you wrong on purpose.

You have two or three sets of leaves So far so listen to these people when they talk about keeping it simple because it will matter two months from now when it's not so simple. So far so good, but you need to think about transplanting them in a little while so don't forget about that, and don't make it complicated when you do.

I transplanted them three days ago from solo cups, they're in one gallon containers. . I'm not transplanting every three days man, the soil will just fall apart and destroy the roots at this point as they haven't had time to fill out the pot with roots yet. a gallon pot should be good until they're close to a foot when i will transplant one more time into the final 5 gallon containers. just doing it twice to make it easier to not over water and get mold. I don't find my nute set up complicated at all, give nutes for a month , flush, give nutes for a month, flush it's not rocket science. I do use tap water but it's filtered and should be removing 99% of the crap the city puts in it. not the least of with is so much bleach you can easily smell it when it comes out of the tap. My tap water ph's at around 7.5 to 8 and you want me to feed it to them not ph'd? i think not.

I've given mine tap water that varies from 5.5-8. Soil based plants do not require pre-ph'd water either. The city or county doesn't put 99% crap in their water to make it potable either. Don't spread non-truths about this ok. That chlorine u smell is a small ppm that with splashing and agitation out gasses rather quickly, faster than the 24 hrs that seems to be the standard. I'm out of here, this seems like a waste of time .
