SOMEONE PLEASEE HELP! tall & spindly seedling

yea, im kinda low on the funds right now so cant go pro thats for sure, lol. i wonder if it may just be easier to do it in the spare room. cause thats about 12 x 12 or so and i wouldnt really have to worry about duct work and whatnot. i could just throw in 2 oscilating fans and darken the hell out of the room. i only have a bit of mylar though is the only problem. the walls are white but id prob lose a bit of yield.

BTW I use a single 42w 6500k CFL with reflector per plant during veg 3-4 inches away. Ill show a picture if you want. I veg for 4-6 weeks depending on the strain and desired finishing height.

The 4x4 is much better for a couple plants, the 12x12 will work but having walls helps reflect more light into the plants. if you have a fan to blow on them and one to exhaust air from the room your golden.

thats actually what im using now except i have two of them in my pc grow case. no reflector though, just mylar which is just as good i find.

one for the tops and one for the sides.

you only need one above it. ive been using them for 3 years now. so you can do 2 plants with what you already have. If you can find some cheap P and K to add to that Fert youll have everything.

yea, i like having the one on the side though. makes it a lil healthier without having to crush stem in between nodes just to get the bottom to fill out right. i like an evenly healthy plant without all the stress, loll. i just hope its not male. i cant see well without a magnifier but it kinda does look like theres like a little hair or new leave starting to sprout out. so thats whats confusing the hell outta me. cause i dunno if this is new node or sex. ahh well, only time will tell i guess.

Haha. your going to stress it out with 84w of cfl that close to a plant. you dont need to go crazy with veg lighting. heres a pics of some of my veg lights.

I dont crush stems or whatever you mean. I top mine once. Trust me one light is more than enough for one plant for 4 - 6 weeks. Next time they wont be so stretched out because you will have the light close from the beginning.

shitt! that actually looks pretty nice. where did you get your reflectors? whats the prices on them?

home depot $11 each. i get my bulbs from amazon for $9 each. 210watts of these bulbs did better than my 216w 4 bulb T5

and the crushing thing... yea, ive never done it before i just read about people doing it cause it apparently helps the bottoms fill out better by redirecting the energy. you apparently crush the stem in by the nodes and let it heal and while its healing it redirects all the energy it was using for the top to the bottom or something like that, loll. don't like the thought of even taking scisors to it let alone a pair of pliers lmao.

no problem. i work in my gardens every day, i cut leaves off every day starting the third week of flower. just to let light to all the buds. dont worry about them dying, thats unlikely from cutting leaves. unless you take them all off. patience is valuable when your growing, so sit back smoke a joint. =)

yea, i was actually kinda thinking about doin that but didn't know if it would do more harm then good. main reason being is i have 2 leaves that are bigger then the others and those are the ones im trying to keep away from the lights. theyre always growing up into the lights for some reason. everthing else is going quite moderately but them 2 seem to grow quicker then the rest of them.

i wouldnt cut any now. not until it shows sex. i would have topped it way sooner though. next time. its ok if some grows faster or bigger. just keep moving the light away. keep it 3-4 inches away in veg though. cfls are way stronger than T5s. my t5 had to be 1-2 inches away and was burning tips too.

dont bother wasting them tight funds on other foods yet,. they actualy use more nitro in bloom than the other 2. we test this weekly to see what they use more or less of. old thinking they need more phos and potassium. google the phosphorus myth by advanced nutes.

your at 18 inch now...ya flower em. they may go 3 x that hight. and a 600 only has max lumens up to 22 inches from bulb. 1 more inch is 50% less lumens so is a waste of veg time and foods to go taller. you dont have enough lighting for it.

ya looks male kinda to me. i only see 1 ball set and usual;y is more. they will show sex in veg or any light once they reach maturaity. they do show faster in 12/12 lighting though. and slower under less light.

rotating them is fine to do also.

bigger pot dont make for a big diff in size. i have some in 1 gal and 2 and 3 gal and there is so little diff its hard to see. all you get is a bit more lateral branching,. average rule is 1 month age 1 gal. or 1 foot hight to each gal. longer veg makes for bigger plants. ive run in solo cups and got same as in 2 gal pots in my past to show others this....5 month in a cup.

your crushing the stem is called pinching. it temporary re-direct the hormoes. not like topping does. its sorta a form of Lst, gently roll in fingers till oyu feel the pulp crush then leave it. or bend over if hight is an issue.

a 600 in 4x4 is just right. dont cheep out on a fan though. like dont use a pc fan or think it will coll enough for you. if money is tight look at a squirl cage fan, probably the cheepe3st and most cfm for your buck. other than a real exhaust fan

yea, its now her morning so im gonna cut the lights off at 1130am tomorow morning and start the 12/12 just to make sure. cause im not so sure on my noob skills, loll. i see kinda like a little pear shaped thing on each side of the new tops and what kinda looks like a tiny hair but they're so small and i don't have a magnifier to see up close. beside's, this is the first day i've actually noticed them and i been checking her alot so i have up until 10 days before it starts dropping pollen anyway if its male right medi?
