Air cooled hoods are great! With my air cooled hood I can keep my 600 really close to my canopy. Enjoy your new bad ass light!

I'm taggin' along for the ride! I vegged with T5's and I'm flowering this time with a 1000w, but have used 600w's many times in the past. Good luck, let's get us some medicine!

here's the project i donated the 400 watter to. plant is skywalker og about 4' 6" tall beastly bitch. never smoked it before, but she's so healthy under not so desirable conditions. must be good genes and i don't see why not good smoke. at least there should be a lot of it :). 3rd week flower. also, 4 other good strains goin. figured i'd share :eyesmoke:

So, I ended up just going through and removing all infected leaves. looks like one plant was real bad, two were not too bad, and one unaffected. really trimmed a lot of fan leaves which sucked so bad. i could see the larvae on some of them, so I had no time to look into other solutions. Makes me think more than likely some made it into soil. The only halfway decent news is that almost all the infection was the bottom 1/4 of the plant. I'm going to hit up the nursery for some kind of bug spray and fly tape. any suggestions?

I tried to respond earlier, but riu was down. Leaf Miners aren't that bad, they don't really do much damage to your plants. I would bug bomb once now and once in two weeks. I use foggers, I know that a lot of people are anti-pesticide, but I'm anti bugs. I wasn't sure if you were in flower already, looks like veg to me still, but I'm too stoned to look back and double check. If you are still veggin' then go ahead and fog it up. The miners aren't too bad, but may as well kill whoever's laying them. Generally where there is one pest, there are or will be more to follow.

Once in flower it's too late to address it.

yeah, i'm week 3 in flower which is why i decided to take quick action. so what do you mean by too late? like it was the right answer to cut them out and pesticides are not an option now? i think the whole site was down earlier btw. great timing.

Eeewww, yeah, I wouldn't use pesticides that far into it. Pretty much only the first week of flower is safe. If the stuff is going to touch anything I'm going to actually smoke, I don't do it. Leaf Miners don't threaten the life of your plants so I'd start using neem oil to protect from other critters. On your next grow, bug bomb at the beginning of the last week of veg and again at the end of the first week of flower. It will help you avoid this on the next go around.

I don't know that there's a lot that can be done about Leaf Miners specifically, but hopefully the neem oil will keep whatver bug is laying these things from doing it or at least slow it down. Like I said, they are mostly harmless though and your plant doens't really care that it's playing host to the little bastards. I would be more worried about the hosts of other bugs like spider mites that will ruin your crop.

for sure I will be more cautious on the next batch and hit 'em with the bomb like you said. Have you ever seen or heard of this stuff? supposedly good to use up to day of harvest http://www.planetnatural.com/site/pyganic-pest-control.html. for today though, did another thorough check of the leaves and only found a couple infected. not going to pull anymore because i picked up some traps and can't get myself to do it unless absolutely necessary. :-|

other than that, pretty successful batch of clones for a first try if i do say so myself. :-o 7 in dirt, 4 almost ready, and 1 fail. not bad numbers in my opinion. donating 2 tomorrow to a provider :leaf:

as far as flowering, starting to see some bud action and loving it :weed:

Pyrethrum isn't too bad and is generally organic but I still wouldn't use it late into flower. I have had better results using Azamax and it too is organic.
