I hear that argument alot. Consider this. Durring the dark ages humanity made absolutly no progress for almost 400years or so. Superstition, disease, famine and general ignorance killed countless swathes of people. Reason being? Science had been effectively shelved due to things like religion and politics.Shouldn't we use the money we spent on space exploration to better humanity?
Science is what started to pull us OUT of the dark ages. Is it just me or does that not seem like an extremely important thing, one that benefited humanity immessurably.
