space race real

Shouldn't we use the money we spent on space exploration to better humanity?
I hear that argument alot. Consider this. Durring the dark ages humanity made absolutly no progress for almost 400years or so. Superstition, disease, famine and general ignorance killed countless swathes of people. Reason being? Science had been effectively shelved due to things like religion and politics.

Science is what started to pull us OUT of the dark ages. Is it just me or does that not seem like an extremely important thing, one that benefited humanity immessurably.

humanity will continually kill its self. it doesnt matter how much money we throw at it. look at the gang wars in the USA no different the the tribal wars of africa and others since we were cave men. we will in time improve but there will always be someone who will throw it to the ground for his benefit. space will help us to look at allot more things then just stars. europa is a neat planet and gleilse is insane and both are similar to earth. it will bring about a change where people will look at how beautiful it all is when natural and see what they are doing to the world. from then the rest of the world will be brought to the point where we help revitalize this planet which God left us here for. even if the space race is an idea on someones computer to make us believe we have made it. thought i have seen satellites.

the race to space is real to me....................................................................................................................................... but there always occures a thought that maybe it isnt. the land on mars is fake or the space station is some crock a shit designed to make us think we did it. but what do you think?
all a bit silly, the rover did land on Mars but they fucked it up ie: a few hours hours later it was tweeting it's progress when it so obviously fucking wasn't. time span.

If we don't explore space, Jean-Luc Picard could never be the captain of a space ship, and never do a face palm.

China is just now building their space exploration station and its funny how Fox News claims that we are in a space race with China... Space Race? China?! We've only had NASA for the last what 40 years and china is just now building theirs.. Not much of a race if you ask me. Just the media trying to scare into believing that shit !

the Chinese are making it futuristic/modern. It's like the 3G 4G thing and telephone wires. We had phone lines laid down early days which was great but we learnt to rely on it whereas other countries such as Kazakhstan didn't so now they learnt and just laid down brand new fresh systems. Kazakhstan has 4G the UK doesn't. What the USA has up in the space race is old and broken like old laid telephone wires.

Its the International Space Station, not the USA space station. I don't know if your thinking of Mir space station that was old and out dated, and is no longer in service. The ISS is frequently upgraded an updated each time we go up. It's not just sitting static up there getting dusty.

I think there was millions wasted on the closing ceremonies of the Olympics. Now THAT money should have gone to feed some hungry kids.

We need to really think ahead, regarding what we put in space. It's a GD mess up there. Thousands of junk satellites and countless little pieces of metal trash racing around in orbit at 20k mph. When one of those comes down in an urban area and kills some folks, there will be a much needed discusion.

Space, our final frontier. Suck to eventually not even be able to leave the driveway.
