I thought it would be a hassle to make, but it really is pretty simple, but cleaning the electrodes often is a must. I uglied it the first time I tried..lol

Keep up the great work. :weed:

It is a bit of a pain, but I was just playing vids and having a few beers anyway. The cost savings over buying it are well worth it though. Here in my area, it costs about $60 for just a couple ounces of 50 PPM CS. Making it costs literally just pennies per quart.

I'm pretty surprised I was able to get it all the way up to 59 PPM though. My girlfriend uses the stuff religiously for health benefits, so the added PPM was a bonus.

Thank you. I'm excited to start spraying a plant when the lights go on tonight. I have the perfect candidate that is just starting to produce flowers. I'll likely upload pics after I do it.

Sweet. I'm excited too, harvest that ak48 tonight!!

I used Tiresias mist a brand of cs...be sure to spray those fuckers often ...only do maybe 3 branches...id put each plant in a deep box that way the pollen doesnt float around in there.... I was successful...I used it on my afghan kush ryder auto and got pollen but when I pollenated my seed of it never got it to.take

Did a harvest of a small Cotton Candy and a small Blueberry. A week early, but I want it done for when I have a visitor flying in for Christmas. Rearranged my flower tent after that. I've got two Afghani (the one at the back, and the tall one to the right) and two UBC Chemo (front and to the left). The Chemo plant grows their leaves rippled and curly, so that's normal for the strain.

The tall Afghani is the one I've been using CS on. It's 17 days into flower. Just spraying a couple of the lower right branches. All I need is a small amount of pollen.

Not a great pic of the harvest, but it is what it is. Got 7 oz wet, and 4 oz wet of small bud, popcorn and sugar leaf for cooking.

I impregnated a nice, short and well flowering female Afghani #1 last night with pollen I took from a strong male Blueberry plant a few months ago last night.

Pretty excited to see what happens. Some say pistils recede within a day, so I'll know more when the lights go on tonight.

I pollinated just one lower branch, then wrapped a band around it so I wouldn't forget which one. This particular Afghani girl went into flower on the 5th of December, so I'm hoping to have seeds about 10 days prior to harvest.

Week 7 flower for this batch. Two Afghani, two UBC Chemo. The plant with the tall cola dead centre is the one I bred with Blueberry pollen. I pollinated one of the lower branches.

You can see the supercrop job of the taller Afghani (I grew them from fem seed a medical grower friend gave me) plant on the right. You can also see a bit of nute-burn on the tips. I over-fed my auto-drip system.

Harvest day, three plants. First pic is Afghani #1, second is UBC Chemo (I harvested the other Afghani a few days ago). I got a good handful of seeds from the Afghani (x Blueberry) from the branch I pollinated.

Also came away with a huge bowl of popcorn bud.

Some of my viable Afghani #1 x Blueberry seeds, and a pic of the Cotton Candy, UBC Chemo and Afghani plants I have going in my flower tent.

I've decided to change up my flower tent. Since I went from outdoor to indoor two years ago (when I became a member of RIU), I felt cramming plants into flower would be productive. This is what I've learned:

- instead of going from clone to flower, or clone to veg for a week, it's MUCH more effective to plant rooted clones for two weeks, then transplant into the flowering size pot, and let them root for two to four weeks before putting into flower

- LST from the get-go, especially within the first 1.5 weeks after transplant to the flower pot

- keep space between flowering plants; instead of having 8 plants hugging each other, with a good rooted veg period where LST has been done, keep separation between flower plants so that all budsites get light

- pruning... I'm against it 'theoretically', but when only running 400w HPS, it makes actual sense to clean out underlying brush as well as the *odd* fan leaf that doesn't seem to make sense when considering the overall light penetration of the group. I run a gravity feed system, so keeping three inches off the soil is prudent. It also allows me to see dead plant matter in my pots much more readily

All that said, I've calculated that I should get 2.2+ zips from each of these following plants for a total of 8.8 oz with my new method.

Thoughts and opinions welcome.

Believe it or not, these plants are only six days into flower. UBC Chemo, Cotton Candy and Afghani #1.

hey SPek nice thread .im a beginner in the breeding but super stoked to be getting into it as a hobby.Im wondering how many plants you are selecting from when you choose a male and are you selecting to grab certain genetics from each plant?I'll read back to see if I missed something so don't answer if you covered this.cheers M8
Great thread spek! helps lot of people. @daybreaker here are some ways to choose from a group of males:

- Look at plant structure, is it tall and lanky or short and stout. Short stout is better.
- Dry the male parts that have trichomes on them (male parts and sugar leaf) and vape it when you are sober, and see if you get high.
- Look at how frosty the male parts are compared to the other males are. This resin trait should help with breeding.
- Luck :)
- You can reverse a flowering male plant by spraying chemical ethephon on it, and it will create female buds, you can dry these buds and smoke them to evaluate resin/potency.

Te key is to flower out the males and look at flower cluster, cut the branches and see if it is hollow or woody, look for resins. Take clones so you really know what you're working with. Observe how well your females respond to the males being in the area.

My little seed storage I've been building/creating, and a couple pics of me pollinating a Cotton Candy plant (day 14 flower) with Blueberry pollen.
