Spider mites?

I know these are not the best pics but in the middle of the first one and end of second pic you can see white spots starting. I am working on 5 th week of veg. I cannot think of anything else but mites. What do you think and if so, how would you treat. I have neem oil but have only sprayed twice and it has been a week ago.

Yo Scott, you in NM? Neem oil should do the trick, you just have to stay on top of it. I can't honestly see anything though in the pic. Are you seeing any kind of webbing around any leafs or stems? The only time I have seen spider mites on a grow was at a medical grow and it had obvious webbing all over it. If you are not seeing that, couple of doses of Neem and I personally wouldn't worry too much.

Always keep a clean room if indoors as that will promote no bugs too, of course.

Yeah, always would rather fight an issue in Veg rather than middle of flower any day! Something I do also is spray bug spray around the edges of my room every few months. Nothing that gets anywhere close to the plants but is another great bug barrier, as most bugs want to live in/around plants. Damn it's getting chilly in NM lol

Hi, I'm on my second grow, and on the start of my 3rd week in flower. I've discovered that I have spider mites. What is the best thing to buy, and where will I be able to get it from?

You won't see webbing until the mites have colonized heavily. They can hang out in your room and party for a long time until they decide to colonize and make party tents out of web.

Mites are easy to see with the naked eye. You just have to look really close to the leaves to see them. Flip the leaf over and you should see tiny white eggs and the mites look like tiny spiders. Two spotted mites have tiny black spots (two of them) on the body.

If your eyes ain't too good then get a jeweler's loop to see them easier or any magnifying glass.

Both Mites and Thrips make white marks on the leaves. Mites pierce the leafs then suck the chlorophyll; leaving a white dot where they pierced the leaf. Thrips scratch the leaf and lick chlorophyll; leaving a tiny white scratch line on the leaf.

Neem is good but Azamax is the best. Ware skin and breathing protection if you spray azzy.

Yes the pics are pooooooor quality so i can't positively say this...but does not look like mites (spots would be very small and frequent), this looks like white checking/flecking.... which would be thrips (small, but bigger than mites, whitish bug). they suck sap from the leaves and leave behind those white flecks, also they poop black dots on leaves... and they are a pain in the ass! Neem can treat the leaves for them, but the bugs reproduce in the soil so you need to get a soil treatment and follow the treating schedule which is usually once every 10 days, and do a min of 3 treatments. but like i said the pic is too hard to judge exactly what it is because it's so fuzzy

Personally, I think BCOGYODA gave you the best advice. I can't tell from the pics if you have mites at all but if you do... you are in for a battle! Get some Azamax and switch what you use every 3-7 days. Maybe mix up a VERY strong solution of habanero water and or 50/50 water rubbing alcohol, or a water soap mixture. Don't hit them with the same thing for too long they build resistance to most things pretty fast.

I use neem as a soil drench as a preventative, about 3ml per gallon.

My grow is in a basement/garage so I have some other options as well. If your grow is away from where you or other people frequently are, consider a "hot shot no pest strip" you can get them from lowes or HD for 7 bucks. Do some searches and due diligence before using them. Also, do not use them past 1-2 weeks into flowering.

If its mites hit them with neem or azamax or some other organic BS and quiet them for awhile until they come back and they will in bloom and destroy your crop. Get serious get professional hit them with avid or bayer forbid or better both a week apart. Buy it on Ebay stand down wind where a long sleeve shirt with avid forbid is a bit safer. The mites will then be gone

For thrips spirosad is by far the best and safe up until a few days before harvest
it is found in captain jacks dead bug brew or monterey garden
insect spray. Thrips often leave small black dots. This is thrip shit.
