They are still looking so small even after 25 days since germination, i think i really lost two weeks by letting them stay in the smaller pots for way too long .

Also, the tempratures here are quite cold at the moment, the warmest under the lights is about 15 degres centigrate (50-60F), humidity is between 80-85. Do I need to make the room a little warmer to see faster growth?

I need the plants to be ready for harvest before end of march, which means i just have one more month of vegging period left

Gave them a NPK feed yesterday, half the recommened strenght since this was the first time. Lets hope they show faster growth from here on

Happy new year to everybody, cheers!

The Church: As usual, my most unlucky plant from day one. A few days back it developed some problem signs, spotting on the edges of leaves, and was really drooping down with little to no growth for a few days. I figured it was either a Cal Deficiency or over feeding of the nutes. Since I didn't have any cal mag ready, I flushed the plant thoroughly, and saw a noticible difference within a day. the spotting of the leaves has not worsened, and the plant is getting back to growing again.

I have decided I wont be using any of the general nutes I have. I will be ordering one of the lines from Advance Nutrients today.

Also placed a room heater, tempratures are now above 20 degrees in the grow room and the humidity has also come down, lets see what the results are.

then most likely its a deficiency or its rootbound like it happened with my plants, as soon as i moved them to bigger pots the problem was solved

Sweet Tai: yet to show its sex
IMG-20130120-00166.jpgIMG-20130120-00167.jpg

Today was the second time I fed them advance nutrients GMB....Lets see how they go over the next two weeks, after two weeks I plan to switch them over to 12/12

I have a question for anyone who is reading.....I have been vegging them indoors under 18/6, would they flower if I move them outdoors where I am currently getting about 12 hours of light a day and will remain that way for the next 2-3 months

Update after ages:

Switched to 12/12 exactly 3 weeks ago on 3/02/2013

A week after switching, I had to go away for a week. had someone look after the plants while i was away. Came back after a week and still no flowering, but the plants had grown like crazy in just a week. The nutes I am using must be doing a good job I thought, but no flowering 2 weeks after flipping. On the 18th day after flipping, I saw something that I thought could be the beginning of the flowering on one of the three plants. A day after that saw the same signs on the second plant. The third is yet to show such clear signs of the buds forming.

Its confirmed now, the white widow and AK48 are now in flowering, gaining height a lot too - is this normal that they really gain size once they start flowering?

Also, is it advisable to get rid of the lower shoots where there isnt much light getting through? I was thinking of keeping only those shoots/nodes that are getting good light so the plant is not wasting energy on the rest of em - could someone please tell me if this is a good practice?

it's perfectly normal for plants to gain size when you flip to flowering...it normally takes hardcore indica strains anywhere from 8-25 days to show sex after flowering depending on how long they were vegging...
sativas can take longer but it's rare...
the stretch upon flipping to 12/12 should always be borne in mind when you start your grow. if the leaves are fatter than they are long you can GENERALLY expect less stretch than a plant with thinner and longer leaves. this isn't a steadfast rule but it's held true for most strains i've grown...

best vibes

Some pics of Sweet Tai next time

Been just over a week since i saw the buds forming. Should I clean up the smaller weaker buds at the bottom of the plants? Ive already removed a few of em, could probably get rid of some more?? Or maybe I should just suppliment the light on the sides?

Also, germinated 4 autos last week, will be growing those outdoors. 60-70 days before the temprature over here gets too out of hand, hoping to get them ready before it gets too hot for them to handle.

I am also considering growing some plants in the ground rather than in a pot, wanna see how they go if given unlimited room to grow, will keep this thread updated with the happenings.

i am getting about 50 malawi gold seeds or so straight from a grower in africa...will tell you how it does in the indian climate...the main thing for growing any plant that big is the amount of veg required...which is difficult with indian photoperiod...we will have to see whether she vegges or not...

thats awesome....i'd be happy to take a few seeds off your hands if you ever feel generous :)

you are right about the photo period issue, but with our indian landrances vegging forever, malawi might just too.....
