Stealth window venting

Anyone have any pictures or ideas on how to setup a stealth window vent?

I'm setting up a grow room in the basement and have one of those 1ft by 2 ft windows I want to use. Not sure how to keep it light/rain proof and still vent air out.

Thanks for the help.

i couldnt find the post but some dude put a office style blind over a window then boarded over it with a circular hole up the top, built a frame around that, then put another board up over that with a cirular hole down the bottom, where he attached his fan. Dunno if you can picture it, ill try illistrate it

PS. Id leave the window open and security lock it

5 bux at walmart for the vent and metal tube and 6ft dryer vent duct hose. works splendid my friend and sounds like a dryer running outside to anyone ignorant to the fact that your growing.

Good ideas, gets my mind thinking in the right direction. I was thinking about getting one of those window well covers also, maybe paint the inside black or white or something so you can't see in. There are gaps all the way around them, I think enough for air to get out. I think I will use a combination dryer vent flap and window box idea to muffle sound.

I live in a townhouse where all 18 units are the same, and the "dryer vent blind" would look totally obvious coming out of a bedroom window. I'm struggling with the same issue...

I do like the outdoor blinds covering the outside idea, it would make it a challenge to see the ductwork coming out. GiGi

Alright guys...i happen to have THE solution for this.

Watch this video http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3522676950230105924#

The guy makes this box enclosure for the window.

He cracks the window open a bit, then puts blinds over it.

Then he makes a vent box. Its a rectangular box with some foam lined on the inside...and a hole in it.

From then he puts some "speaker cloth" over it to prevent light leaks and filter the air.

Then he attaches the whole vent box to the wall over the window.

From the outside it appears just like some bamboo blinds in a dark room...nothing suspicious.

That is an awesome grow video of a grow in England. They even use that thermal shield to prevent FLIR discovery.
