Storing Mixed Nutes

I am going out of town for a week on an unexpected business trip. My husband will be caring for my 4 week old autos. I began feeding 1/8 strength nutes on the last watering and they are doing great. My hubby will water for me on the every other day schedule and nutes every other water. My question is can I premix the nutrient solution for him before I leave. I am not sure if it will have any ill effects. I know he will need to PH the solution but will it hurt to to stay in a sealed gallon container. Please advise.

OK if it possible can it be mixed in larger quantities like 5 gallon or maybe 55 gallon. That would make life a lot easier.

I'm sure I ran across a thread that discussed this before. I recall someone saying that storing mixed nutes for any significant period of time was not good. Something about going rancid? Probably more of an issue with organic nutes. It might even address this issue on the instructions that came with your nutes.

Thanks. I know I think I saw a thread about it too. I also watched a couple of videos on YouTube that were about creating a grow room and in it they had a 55 gallon drum that was full of nutrient solution but I don't trust that information. I know one of the guys on here will know. I checked the nutes bottles and the online site and no viable information. Thanks

organic nutes will go rancid.. but i read a journal where buddy premixed his nutes and put it in the fridge (pretty sure they were chem tho and not organic)... but if u were to do this u would want to take it outta the fridge hrs b4 feeding, for u dont wanna give them cold water... i would also use enuff containers for each day they will be fed that way its not goin in and outa the fridge (warning up and cooling down)... once its out, use it and have others ready for the next feed... or if u use a large jug, get him to pour what he will need hrs b4 and then let it warm while the rest go bak in the fridge ASAP... what if u premixed jus the amount of nutes needed in per say 2 liter bottls and then ur hubby can add water when hes ready...

Thanks I think that sounds like a plan. I can put them in small containers and have them ready for him. Label them step 1-4. Surely he can't mess it up. Great idea.:blsmoke::mrgreen:

I premix nuits all the time, say its a table spoon for a liter of water, I would do a 1/4 of that and just let it dizzolve in the 1lt of water that I have, put a lid on it so nothing can get in it and it won't evaporate...depending on where your going to keep it of course, I keep mine next to the spot under ground at room temp. that just my .02 cents

I premixed some nutes letting them sit for 3 days before using had no ill effect from what I have seen. I read somewhere this is ok for a week but anyting after is bad. I would try to make it simple as you can for him. My question to you though do you use nutes every feed or water in between now that your starting your nutes. I quess what im getting at if your gone only a week and plan to do a nute feed and then water feed try to make sure its a water feed for the week your gone. I dont know your pot size either I only water once every 5-7 days cause of the pots and soil I use. +rep to your hubby for taking care of you babies. good luck on giving him a crash course on feeding them.:mrgreen:

npz'... i hope it works.. and when i say "i hope it works"... i mean, i hope it works.. i jus found out i have to leave town next week for 7days and have the same issue as u now... gl to the both of us!!! ;) cheers!
