strain with a great high

hey im thinking about strating my first grow this spring, and i was wondering what strains would give a really cerebral high, not make me feel brain dead like alot of shitty mids does. any suggestions?

p.s. the shorter the flowering time the better, because i have to do this all over the summer, before i go back to college
 
Dude, your asking for quite alot. I assume that ur going to be leaving for school before sept...what part of the country do you live in? Most varieties will be ready by early sept, there are a few that "auto flower" and could be done by mid-late aug (anything with ruderalis). Typically your ealier finishers are full of indica traits--faster flowering time, smaller busher plants, big fat fan leaves, and a couch lock stone...sativa's typically give u the ceberal, up high that you asked about, but they finish much later, as late as early Dec for the "pure" types. Your time constraint is a difficult criteria to overcome. Mids are mids for a reason dude. Well done home grown will change your attitude toward the positive without a doubt. Checkout drchronic.com or kindseeds.com for some good genetics and if you focus on strains bred for outdoor British Columbia or Ontario, Canada you'll not only save some cash, but you'll get beans that are more aclimatized to our environment--plus they'll finish alittle quicker because our daylight is a little different
 
mandala #1 sounds just the strain you need... sativa high with a quick finish (55-60) days.
 
i hear a LOWRIDER comeing lol. this strain is from germinate to harvest 2 months it dosnt get alot of bud but you plant alot you will get alot. like a 1/2oz-1 oz
 
well i live in ohio, and im thinking i can start my grow in early may. whats mandala #1 or lowrider? where can i find seeds for those, i dont think ive ever run aross em
 
If you say you're in Ohio and you're starting early May, then you're probably in northeast/northwest OH (if you're in NE, don't like you love the weather lately? haha).

If you don't want the couchlock or the braindead high, then find a sativa strain that grows well in whatever weather you expect.

Mandala #1 is a strain from the mandala seed bank, its there newest strain i'v only grew a clone of it gifted to me by a friend. it gives a nice sativa high without waiting 10-12 weeks to harvest like a lot of sativa's. although it does have some indica in it, the high is very "up" and will have you talking and laughing for hours. here is the link to check it out Mandala Seeds also landrace genetics imo are very easy to grow.

Mandala #1 is a good choice if you are aiming for a quick crop with a Sativa effect. We recommend this strain especially for northern climates where harvesting by the end of September is a priority. This strain has two basic phenotypes (characteristic plant types). Approximately 30% of the plants belong to the Sativa dominant phenotype and grow in a christmas tree shape. The leaf structure is similar to the Indica dominant pheno. Purplish leaf stems and light red stripes along shoots are not uncommon and should not be mistaken for a nutrient deficiency. The young flowering plants have a perfumed woody-herbal fragrance when you rub the stems.* Despite the Sativa dominance the buds are chunky and the plants are easy to grow. The Indica type pheno is apparent through it's squater growth, thick main stem, and larger leaves. Branches are shorter, growing upwards close to the plant (perfect for SOG). The side shoots towards the top are also short and give the head buds a more compact structure. This pheno tends to develop a sweet-spicy smell during early flowering. Mandala #1 flowers with a spear-shaped head bud of considerable length that makes this a high yielder. Resin output is impressive - also in outdoor grows. The prime head buds are coated with a thick layer of trichomes and glisten brightly in the sun. Some plants develop beautiful dark purple calyxes during mid-flowering: a trait which they inherited from the New Zealand Purple Indica in the paternal line. Harvesting is very simple since the calyx-to-leaf ratio is predominantly high.
Indoor
One of our breeding goals is to ensure that our strains are flexible and stable so that plants can be raised indoor and undergo the light stress of switching between artificial lighting and sunlight. It is therefore possible to start your garden indoor and shift the plants outdoor for flowering. Cloning and regenerating Mandala #1 is easy.** Since this strain has a high percentage of landrace genetics that were adapted to growing on nutrient poor soil, the plants subsist easily in good horticultural grade potting soil and require little feeding if any. We recommend to provide an adequate pot size for healthy growth. Height is average and even the sativa pheno can be accomodated in small indoor spaces if a 12/12 light period is started early. A Sea of Green style cultivation is best with the Indica phenotype, or with clones (rather than from seed) of both phenos. All plants are suitable for SCROG and other forms of training.
Outdoor
This early flowering strain shares the benefits of hardy landrace genetics and a very resinous hybrid to produce robust plants with high bud quality. The early flowering traits in this cross initiate bud development quickly enough for an abundant yield in September. Even if harsh weather circumstances require harvesting before all plants reach full maturity, they will still deliver a satisfying amount of resin-coated buds.
 
damn you guys are really helpful. i think im going to go with that mandala #1, it sounds like the perfect strain for me. I think im going to build a grow box for the veg stage, so i can start before school ends, then when i go home i can set up in a closet where theres more room. do you think a box thats 2 feet tall, 1 foot wide, and 1 foot deep will suffice? and i have a 100 watt hps light and fixture i found laying around my house (how lucky is that?) to put on it. ill post some pics once i build it.
 
HPS in a 2 foot space sounds dicey. You need about a foot from the plant with a HPS. With CFLs you could have them as close as an inch from the plant. I think you need at least 4 feet of height if you are going to use an HPS and even that is cutting it close.
 
Have u considered growing outside? I want to finish mine before i go back to college too so im vegging them with some flourescents in a box in my closet right now, taking clones in about a month, and then just planting them outside in may so they have all summer to get big

u think they would grow alright outside chillwill? i live in ohio, and it doesnt seem like there would be enough sun to grow em outside.
 
You can grow some sick herbs in Ohio, its just harder in NE or maybe NW Ohio bc our summer/spring is shorter and there is a better chance of frost early.
 
For you guys that want an early harvest of outdoor buds, IMO a good way to do this is to put plants outside in containers and move these containers indoors for 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness each evening. This way you can start flowering much earlier than if plants are in ground waiting to be triggered into flowering by longer hours of darkness each day.
I am going to begin flowering some plants I now have indoors under lights outdoors in a few weeks or so....I should have a fat bud harvest around July 1.
