Report for the day: Some of my plants have turned out f**king AWESOME to say the least. The OS#1, Critical+, Sensi Star, Strawberry Cough = WINNERS.

Im glad that the Original Skunk #1 is going from musty to skunky. Its really getting strong now. It stinks something awful. This is gonna be the kind of bud you have to keep in jars! Most offensive (only really) smelling bud in the garden. I combed through it again...no signs of mold so its really just some funk. trichs still mostly clear

The Critical+ and Sensi Star are LOADED with trichs. Its really something beautiful to look at. the Sensi star has more trichs overall but the Critical has ones big enough to be seen with the naked eye. its VERY impressive. the Sensi Star is further along...showing more milky trichs. the critical+...not so much.

The Strawberry Cough is a winner because to this point its lived up to my expectations (grow-wise) and then some. First off the buds have really fattened up over the last week. its getting big and bulky. Its gonna be a b*tch to trim judging by the way the buds look. classic sativa style buds. Production was much better than i expected. Strawberry cough is said to be a low yielder but it has a TON of bud sites and all (upper 3/4th) are big and thick.

The hairs are just gorgeous. various shades of orange. no read hairs as of yet (as SC is said to have) but i still have lots of white pistils still too.

the acapulco gold isnt a loser but its only 31 days into 70-75 days till finish so too early to tell. i still have a month and a half lol.

the Kings kush = crap. I dont even need to smoke it as the looks alone tell me that but like i said before i brought it this far along i might as well see it thru. unless this stuff is the most amazing smoke ever ill probably never grow it again just judging by this plant. lol. all buds are extremely small and ugly looking. i'll be LUCKY to get over 1 1/2 oz off it 2 b honest.

Im not 100% sure how long ive been flowering but here are some estimates according to what i had written down.

39 Days Flowering (6wks as of this upcoming friday)
OS#1 (7-11 wk strain)
Sensi Star (8-9wk strain)

35 Days Flowering (5wks as of today)
The Strawberry Cough (9wk strain)
Critical+ (45-50 days or 6-7 wk strain)

29 Days Flowering (1 month as of yesterday)
Acapulco Gold (70-75 days or 10-11wk strain)

I have NO idea how long the Kings kush has been in flower but it did show pistils sometime after the critical and strawberry cough but before the AG. that i remember for sure.

My vegging plants are giving me trouble. anyone know what it could be at a glance at the pic? i think N but im not sure. also my mystery sprout has loads of spots on it brown looking spots...im not sure what it is...mostly on the middle/lower fan leaves.

heres some pics:

Looking quite swell, the OS and Sensi and Critical are impressive, I'm waiting with baited breath to see the AG, one of mine is starting to throw alternate noding so I think they may go into flower soon.

what wattage, size buckets, and how long have you been vegging? must be getting big to see alternating nodes. it jumps a lot after going to 12/12. very slow to flower.

These were started about the same time you went into flower, a little after, and were a bit slow, I think due to being started under 12/12 and then switched to veg.

4ft, 6strip T5, rated to 30,000 lumens. I got it because my plan when I get settled in is to do a scrog in the tent and if I had a flat screen in veg I wouldnt need the light penetration of a metal halide. My plant cap may rise next month, due to a significant other getting their card. Woot!

quite pretty man, Im excited!

oh cool i have a 4ft 6tube t5 fixture myself. would yours happen to be a hydrofarm (thats what mine is). got it on amazon for the cheap.

how close do you have your light? i found out the closer the better w/ t5's. i do miss the vigorous growth i get under MH though :-/

It's about 8inches from the tops of the leaves, and yeah, it is a hydrofarm thingy, a designer bullshit case though.
And I have yet to experience the joys of playing around with a MH, too hot in the dessert.

try getting the t5 fixture closer. the closer it is the fast they will grow. i got mine pretty close without burning the plants (2inches) if you use a fan you can probably get within 1inch.

just a quick pic update once again.

Strawberry Cough - some hairs now turning reddish-orange (yay). trichs 95% clear.

Sensi Star - Now showing first amber trichs. it was given its last feeding today. 3 tsp per gal of Tiger bloom (i know its a lil high but im gonna to stop using nutes at this point). im aiming for 50/50 amber/milky or maybe 60-40 amber. is an indica so i wanna harvest to compliment the effects.

oh. humidity has been hanging around 55% at the most during lights out and around 48-50% during lights on. yay again!

that is all.

EDIT: forgot to mention i found a bean on the Strawberry cough. i browsed through all my plants and it appears to be the only one. no biggie but worth a mention. Sucks ill never know what it is but i plan on saving it for playing around with later (maybe grow it out and see if i lucked out on a killer pheno)

UPDATE :)

ok. So the end is near! I flushed the Sensi Star today. its showing around 30% amber trichs. Im aiming for 50/50 milky/amber or maybe 60/40 or 65/35 at the most.. somewhere in that range.

The critical+ and Skunk #1 were fed today but next time around they will get flushed. the critical+ is showing 20% amber trichs and the Skunk #1 is 50/50 milky/clear but i want to harvest with only around 85/15 amber/milky trichs as its a hybrid so i want a good representation of both "body and head".

im not sure what i should let the trichs get to before harvesting the critical+ any suggestions? im not sure if i should aim for more amber or milky trichs.

So in about 2weeks all i will have left is the Kings kush runt, Strawberry cough, and acapulco gold.

Im thinking the KK is close to coming down but i didnt check the trichs. i'll probably flush it next time too.

I found a few more seeds on the SC i previously didnt see before. so now i found 5 beans total. not too bad. minor hermie. the other plants still didnt show any seeds so it appears to be an isolated incident.

Heres a few pics from today:

I would cut now, on personal preference, optimum thc is 100% cloudy supposedly, and during a good cure, some of that thc breaks down further and turns amber, into cbd and cbn - what I have noticed.

+ cannabinoid profiles (ratios) change in seeded cannabis, sometimes making a unique and awesome high, Jorge Cervantes prefers seeded bud.

cut which ones down now? the sensi? the Skunk? the critical?

also shouldn't i flush and wait a certain period of time (i usually wait 8-14 days after flush mattering on how fast the trichs change after that)...if not flush at least discontinue the nutes for 10-14 days right?

Ive always done this as fox farm isnt organic and i dont want smell/taste/burn (ash) to be effected.

whtas ur experience w/ this?

oh and cool tip about cervantes! i never read his book so i didnt know that. this should be interesting! i know the SC isnt ready yet for sure (seeds arent even all the way developed yet....i picked one and checked it was premature) so i let the other 4 keep going...might as well now since they are the only ones i found after checking all my plants top to bottom.

I do flush with foxfarm, I like to chop with about 10% amber, and end up with more, like 30%. So I would have started flushing the sensi, the skunk, and the critical a while ago, and have cut yesterday.

i see. how long do you generally wait from flush to chop?

i may have to cut the tops first as they are closest to being finished. ill have to let the rest of the plant continue flowering as the trichs further down are still mostly clear. its mainly the tops that are ready.

depends on how much salt buildup and whats left in your dirt, that you think, I don't actually "flush" - i.e. watering like 10X the substrate volume, I just water with plain water for a week or two before hand.

No pics but a quick update:

upon further review only my buds on the very top of the plant (not even the whole main colas...just the most upper buds of the plants) are showing amber. a good portion of the main colas still is mostly clear/milky so i may not be too late after all (referring to the sensi star btw)

im gonna start my chop from the very top and slowly work my way down as the rest of the plant finishes.

Also I took a clean razor and sliced through the first layers of the stem at the base (forget the technical terms of the layers but basically to fool the plant into thinking its dying to throw out as much resin as possible).

Im gonna flush my Critical+, OS#1, and KK this upcoming watering (probably tomorrow or the following day) the SC and the AG obviously have a ways to go. My SC is about 6 weeks in...on the 7th week ill flush as im aiming for mostly milky trichs. im not even sure when the AG will finish. its gonna take forever. It still mostly clusters of hair just now starting to form into buds. so idk how long its gonna take considering its in week 5 or 6 (gotta check my notes that i dont have w/ me) of flowering. im thinking at LEAST 12 wks flowering...im not sure though.

Anyway thanks for checking back.
