Hi guys, ive been growing my first plant for a few weeks in my window. Last week it finally sprouted, and it was growing really fast, it went from like 1 1/4 inch to like 2 inches over 2 days (probly not fast compared to you pros, but i felt like i was accomplishing something) :)

Anyways, i was looking for tips on rollitup, and you guys said "try making a growing room with floresent lights." so i got some from my friend, and made this room. well, its been 4 days and for some reason it wont grow a single bit now. im not sure if im just doing it wrong or what.

i know these lights are pritty good for growing plants indoors, because ive done it a few other times (not marijuana) and they worked fine.

any idea why my plant wont grow? the lights about 4 inches away from the plant. i know you guys say about 1-2 inches from the plant top, but even still, wouldnt it grow just alittle even if i had it 4 inches away from it?

By the way, i just leave the light on the plant 24/7, could this also be the problem? im not sure if i should do like a 12hrs on 12hrs off thing or not

Not 12x12 ok. They dont grow like crazy until ya grow roots the more roots the more it grows. They are just fine.

If they are true florescent bulbs like the 4 foot shop lights get them right ontop of the plant almost touching like 1/4 inch away. If they are cfl well I wont even get into those go get the florescen shop light. Make sure the temps are like 70-75 and a light fan is blowing over the plants.Make sure the pots are at least 1/2 gallon pots as the roots will grow fast and if they dont have room you stunt your plant real early in life. some people use cups which are just bad ideas as you have to transplant in 3-5 days which is unneeded stress.Do Not over water which alot of new growers do. In a 1/2 gallon pot maybe once a week is more then enough. Use good soil that mixed to give good root aeration

If using 4ft tubes keep lights about 1 1/2 to 3 inches from tops. If using CFL's depending on watts keep about 6 to 8 inches from tops. I hope your not feeding it food when its that small that will slow growth. I dont feed food till plant are 8 inches tall. Then I mix a mild General Hydroponics Flora Grow. Make sure you check ph lvl's in water and try and keep between 6 to 6.8.
Home Depot sells 42 watt CFL's made by Philips in both spectrums for about $12 each. Get 2 blue6400K & 2 Red3000K depending on size of grow area. Use 1/2 gallon pots with a good soil mix. 80% soil +20% vermiculite. Water every 3 days till about 8 inches tall then switch to mild food mix. Good Luck!

but also, i dont have a fan for my plants to make sure they dont get over heated, so should i keep the lights alittle higher than normal? or will my plants be fine?

Invest in true 4ft grow lights from Home Depot. There about $20 each. It will make a world of difference. 1 1/2 to 3 inches above tops.

12/12 is for when you wana flower,,,but you dont wana do that yet,you should really veg for a minimum of 4 weeks before you change to 12/12 so keep ya light on 24/7 or 18/6,,,,i reckon the stunting is either the temps are to hot or cold, they need repotting or you aint got the right type of light,,,,,a picture of ya lights and plants would help us diagnose ya problem,,,,,,peace
