Your welcome...& Yes, I bet if we found a bar of gold, for say $ 20 bucks...someone would tell us - we got ripped off. LOL....
.
Yeah, that's a pretty decent deal on that Guano. I got some of it and it's working great. Good Quality !!!

Ok, I put this here so you don't have to go back to page one to see the deal. It actually got better, since page one.
.
www.ebay.com Search for Bat Guano
.
Blue Mountain Organics is selling a 1/2 pound High N Guano & 1/2 pound High P Guano Pack for about $ 10 shipped to your door.
.
I buy from these people, both Super Plant Tonic & Bat Guanos. They have good quality stuff. The price is right & you might want to check it out or not.
.
They are a small company in the Ozarks (Arkansas) - no website, no corporate headquarters, no CEO. Just some nice, Hippies selling some decent quality stuff. Or you can go pay, twice as much from the Big Hydro Fert Companies - for chemically rendered, petroluem or natural gas waste byproducts (known as fertilizer) Yuck....
.
Keep it Real...Organic...

i wonder how exactly you harvest bat guano because i went to the carlsbad caverns when i was younger and witnessed all the bats coming flying out of the cave. i wonder if people would look at you funny if you're all scraping at the walls trying to get to the gold lol but sounds like a job for that dirty jobs show.

Guano is mined, both bat and seabird. As such, they are considered, unfortunately, a non-renewable resource. That's why, if I'm gonna use it, I'm going to use it sparingly and squeeze out every bit of goodness I possibly can. I don't know if there are any renewable sources of guano... but other manures do decompose for us well enough, too.

Oh yes, La Jolla indeed! Or, maybe one of the piers, say at OB, IB, PB or MB? ;) (You might be able to get homeless compost in IB, if it's anything like I remember it...)

Yes, good old Imperial Beach... drinking at the " The Plank"...waking up on the beach, with sand in your underwear. Roberto's for breakfast, two bong hits & a shower - then off to work. Been there, done that.
.
OK, now back on subject. Lots of Bat Guano is responsibly removed (mined) from caves all over the USA. & Yes...It is a dirty job. I have a friend in Eureka Springs, Arkansas who is the stewart for a privately owned cave. He removes about 100 pounds of Guano per year, only during the time period that Bats are active, but not breeding. Since, this only represents about 1/2 of what is dropped by the Bats each year (in this tiny cave) - it is a renewable resource. The key lies in removing no more than half, of what is deposited each year. Arkansas has strict guidelines about removing Bat Guano, fines for breaking the rules are STEEP.
.
Since, Bats represent 1/5th of all the mammals on earth, there is allot of Guano to be had, without upsetting the balance.

 I have fond memories, I had a dear friend who lived about a quarter mile away from the border in IB, that last long chain of condos, by the preserve. He passed away several years ago, but one of my favorite things to do was head down from L.A. on a Thursday or Friday night, and just do my own thing hangin' with John.

Wow, that's AWESOME, I'm really happy to read that. Now, is this the same guano that BMO are selling? I had no idea that any states had any guidelines for guano collection at all.

They were just building those condos when I lived out there. I lived right on third street in IB. Me & my roommate used to go surfing there , at least 5 times a week. & get happy at " The Plank " three times a week.
.
Then all that garbage from Mexico, started drifting up the coast. So, even though we lived there, we stopped surfing there. We went to Coronado, La Jolla - especially Blacks Beach... oh..yeah....
.
I'm not sure where willieonthehill gets his guano from. I'll shoot him an email and ask. He's always good about replying. I'll find out.
.
Yes, I'm proud of Arkansas - regarding the Responsible Harvest Laws - with Guano. According to my bud, 20 plus states are now onboard with the guidelines provided by the Bureau of Land Management. It protects the bats and ensures Guano remains a renewable resource. It still amazes me, that bats make up 20 percent of all the mammals on earth. Now, that's pest control.

I never hit Black's but I do remember The Plank (never actually went in). I actually spent a lot more time out on the bay, when we had a boat. (SD bay, not Mission)
