Tap water ,somtimes it's the problem

my plants have been declining, i haven't changed anything for the past few grows yet my grows keep getting poorer , got the water quality report back from the city now i know why , my water is poison for my plants

Aquafina does a fine job.. its what I use. ;)

the Aquafina guy comes once a month by the crib and leaves me with 2 25gallon water jugs.

I forgot the PH of the water.. but its right around 6.3 or was it 6.4? It's one of those..

but anyhow.. IMO, its about as good as you can get it.

PS. That is, unless you have the cash for a Reverse Osmosis machine.. which I currently don't have. Maybe some day I can get one.. but right now with the way things are with the economy.. I'm keeping as much money as I can.

Robert did you measure your water with a TDM? Is it 500 or so as the report shows? I don't think I have seen such a high PPM in municipal water. To think they charge you for it too! 200 ppm cal/mag!! and the Sulphates. Note the explanation for the sulphates: "Naturally occurring, oil field by-product." I get the feeling BP is your water supplier!!

Ya i hear ya were i live they have been working on the water mains in the city my ph was a 8.5 and i have had nothing but problems since they started work

I collect rain water too for my outdoor gardens, so simple to do. When I lived in the city I would let my buckets sit out overnight before using them. I am on a well in the country now and there is no need, my water is perfect :D.

No doubt, that's pretty extreme. From what I've read, anything over 150 is getting risky, so 500+ is waaaay too much. Damn, I hope you found a cheap alternative, because I know it'd be pretty expensive if i had to buy bottled water, for mine.lol Best of luck to ya. :)

I use well water and get good results. I just fill the res and let sit for 24-48 hours with a large airstone bubbling. When it's ttime to water I correct the ph to around 6.0- 6.3 or so and give it to them. I have an easy suggestion for you though... buy a brita filter that attaches to your faucet they cost around 30 bucks. Problem solved :)

I have horrible tap water, I don't have a ppm tester, bu my tapwater PH, out of the faucet, is 10. It caused me some early on PH troubles. I am using distilled on my grow now.

I had tried one of those RO dispensaries where you can refill your water...I guess they don't change their filters very often, because when I got home and tested it...same as tap water.
