TGA Subcool Vortex / TH Seeds A-train gro

Hey Dance, how long after you switched to 12/12 did your Vortex' show its sex. I'm taking clones as we speak from mine and flipping them tonight. I'll be posting picks a little later over on the Subcool sub forum. Plants are looking very nice by the way...good luck!

hi, i switched last tuesday and i think by sat i could see the tiny bud sites showing. it was tonight that i feel certain of their sex. does that sound about right? 6 days? the a-train seemed to show sooner but they were all bigger/taller to begin with. i don't know if size has anything to do with how fast they show or if it's all genetically determined.

i checked them all out tonight and i have one lone female vortex and 2 female a-trains. just did away with the males.

i think you sent me a link to the subcool sub forum earlier. i'll check it out!

here's the latest pics. two nights ago i killed the 3 males. i was left with 1 vortex and 2 a-train females. decided to experiment with the smaller a-train and did some pruning of the lower branches hoping to make this one a more or less single cola plant. the big a-train i bent the main stem and tied it down to even out the canopy and have a multi cola plant. the vortex i'm just leaving alone.

pic 1 is the 2 a-trains.
pic 2 you can see the stem i bent and tied down.
pic 3 is the vortex.
pic 4 is all three girls.

Nice pics, the plants are looking good. Dont forget to judge when to water, by the weight of the container and try not to over water.

My Vortex will be showing sex soon. I'll try and throw some pics of them tonight on my thread.....they are all looking pretty good

Grow is looking awesome bro!!

niiiceee lookin babies ya got there :blsmoke:

I'll be checkin this one out for sure. I had my eye on the vortex and the wreckage for a while.

Keep up the good work, they look healthy :joint:

hey thanks for the kind words and encouragement guys. i'm happy i have 3 healthy looking girls and hope i can keep them that way. merry christmas!

i'm wondering what you guys think about nutes for the vortex. does subcool have any info about that anywhere? i'm kinda guessing the a-trains will take anything i throw at them but maybe the vortex are more picky? i try to be careful and conservative about nutes. whatever i use i go at least half, and generally a third of what is recommended on the label. and at this point i use nutes every other watering. any advice?

oh yeah...right now i'm using fox farm big bloom, age old organic kelp, age old organic fish and seaweed, and some general organics diamond black liquid humic acids. and one drop of superthrive in a 2 gallon bucket. sounds like a lot of stuff but like i said i keep it really diluted.

subscribed, cant wait to see the vortex in action, try it out at half nutes first and see how it reacts, if u ask sub he may even tell u exactly...

did all 3 of those plants start at the same time?

yes - they all started at the same time. the vortex is looking real good but growing much slower than the a-trains.

i don't know where to ask subcool questions but i saw a sub thread where he said he uses 7 gallon containers with his super soil and doesn't use nutes at all since it's all in his soil. i'll keep to half nutes every other watering for now. boy that big a-train sure sucks up the water. wish i had the space and a bigger light, i'd put it in a ten gallon bucket.

ordered a sunlight supply "blockbuster" reflector (25.5 x 25.5") to replace the cheap small one i have now. very excited!

the latest pix.

first one is the vortex. second pic is all three of them, vortex center.

Been trying to research nute tolerance over on the Breedbay site for both of us Dance, but coming up short. I do recall a vague reference a while ago that said Vortex did not like nutes on the heavy side. However I have read a couple of smoke reports that sounded very impressive. Mine are doing awesome too..keeping nutes on the light side. Heaviest feeding was today...one tbl spoon Big Bloom and 1/2 teaspoon Open Sesame. Also topdressed the containers with fresh Ocean Forest.

I think I have 3 phenos out of four plants. Early frontrunner that I'm keeping an eye on has a stalk like a telephone pole, nodes are tightly stacked, branches stay tight to the plant and has the strongest smell of the four

Your doing awesome...keep up the good work!!

more pictures.

first is the vortex. second is the big a-train (i had to tie it down again!) and third is the vortex.
