did your vortex stretch a bunch in flower??

looking good bro

thanks everybody. :bigjoint:

yes the vortex stretched quite a bit. however, i'm on day 31 of flowering and the vortex is about 32" so maybe that's not too bad. i'm hoping she's going to slow down on the stretch now. i had nightmares of some 6 foot beast but now i'm thinking it won't be a problem as far as height. plus, i did not top it or bend/supercrop the main stem so i think the height can be managed. i'll let you know 3 weeks or so from now how tall she is when she's finished. highlander has one that got super tall.

I just harvested one Jillybean plant and HOOOOWEEEE DOES THAT SHIT SPARKLE IN THE LIGHT. :hump:

I will take pics tomorrow once it's done drying. It was 12/12 from seed, just this one plant, needed smoke right away and wanted to pick out winner phenos.

Not that much, but good enough for my face for a few days. :bigjoint:

have you guys seen this? wow!. ha ha ha.... mine doesn't look anything like that fucking monster! i'll be lucky if i get one bud the size of any of his.

(hope the link works.)

 i wonder if it's the container size or the watt of the light or maybe he topped it or vegged it for a long time?????

Thats about how big mine get when i use the 10gallon buckets.

oh! thanks for the info! i just bought a couple of those 10 gallon "totes" the other day at walmart for my next grow. i still have 6 vortex seeds.....maybe i'll sprout them all and pick 2 for the big 10 gallon containers.

how long would you veg a vortex?

here they are. seems like vertical growth is slowing down quite a bit. buds are swelling a little. i see a few little spots on the lower fan leaves of the a-train. so far so good. this is day 33 since 12/12.

i can't believe it will be finished in 12 days.

Way to friggen go Dance!!! Those videos are going to be very cool to watch!

I usually veg for 2 months in the big pots. I also start them from seed in them. I dont like to constrict the root growth. Im only allowed by law to grow 12 plants, so the bigger the better...

thanks fditty - that's good to know! i have never tried vegging over a month and my containers have always been 5 gallons or smaller.

i only grow for myself so yield is never really an issue for me but one of these days i'd sure like to grow a plant inside to it's full potential.

ha ha ha...:-P i was way excited when i found it and i watched about 10 times. nice to hear from the man himself and what a nice looking mangy bush. sure would like to know the size of his containers, veg time, lighting, clone or seed, etc.

Ya that prompted me to start the rest of my seeds from subcool. Its been exactlly two months since I started his seeds. Started with six seeds of each strain....

I'm getting pretty impressed with the looks of the Vortex, Dance. I have two with less sativa characteristics that are turning into heavy single cola plants( exactly what I'm looking for ).They are similiar but not the same. And the pheno that you have and I both have is looking like an awesome plant. It has a nice top cola forming now and looks very sativa like. Then there is Stretch whose genes must go back to Romulan or Cindy 99.

So what is A- Train like and what prompted you to get that strain?

That's about how big my A-Train will be. Probably bigger imo. They're only on day 19 though. I haven't posted any pictures of all of the bud sites yet, but I will tonight. VERY impressive plant so far, I ordered another pack of beans just cuz I friggn love her so much!

I'm looking forward to watching your grow. Do you know the exact date you'll harvest or are you going to play it by ear? I'm planning on Feb 26th as my chop day (8 weeks exactly). I may push it back 7 days depending on how everything looks, but you know how that goes.

Are you planning your next crop yet? Will you be doing A-Train again? I am for sure. I will do a couple new strains also, but I think A-Train is going to be the "standard" all other strains are judged by.

PS. Mine don't smell much either. wtf?

So what is A- Train like and what prompted you to get that strain?[/QUOTE]

I visited a friend who was in a wheelchair paralyzed for many years and was dying from pressure ulcers that had infected the bone in his pelvis. he had some a-train he got from one of the local dispensarys and we smoked a joint and it just blew my head off. he died shortly after that and i figured i'd grow some of my own because it seemed to be really good pot and as sort of a tribute to him.

here's how the TH seeds website describes it (although the big book of buds 3 says it's 50/50 sativa/indica with a euphoric/clearheaded high):

The A-train™ is a hybrid between afghani Mazar I Sharif and the clone-only Arcata e-32 Trainwreck™. Trainwreck™ is an infamous plant. It looks like a train wrecked in your room—all the plants falling over themselves. Train-wreck™ is a spindly plant that needs support almost immediately. The MiS helped girth it out a bit and overall she stayed pretty true to her low-leaf count, which really helps with manicuring. On the inhale you taste the menthol, slightly lemony flavor that leaves your tongue numb and an almost immediate kick is felt before you get to experience the surprisingly smooth exhale. If you know what I mean by “Chinese eyes,” then you probably know the type of high this produces. It leaves you smiling and your eyes are little slits—you and your friends start getting creative, but the munchies take over. This is classic stoner weed. The medicinal qualities seem apparent enough: ocular pressure lowered, appetite enhancement, stress relief; this plant has it all.
