THC Bomb/ Strawberry Blue newbie closet grow

My feelings exactly jhowdy17. I've seen some piss poor HPS grows also. It all about bringing everything together from however you start, seed or clone, to curing what is hopefully a successful bountiful crop!
Cheers guys, good to hear a bit of positive feedback on fluorescent light.
On a side note, a mate of mine just found 2 7' tall plants on his farm :) :) :) so I'm not worried about my yield so much anymore, as long as I have a bit of good stuff. Still, the more the better obviously.

I'll update with some pics later today

Update: Day 33

Strawberry Blue:

THC Bomb:

A bit of minor nute burn on the SB and a lightly charred leaf on the bomb (touched the light - woops) but other than that, nothing too exciting to report. A couple of (maybe) fungus gnats floating around, should I be concerned? There's always been 2 or 3 floating round since ages ago. About a week ago I started covering the top of the soil to halt a bit of algae growth

Bugs are always a problem, they take nutrients out of the plant. Use those fly strips and keep the top of the soil covered in sand. If it's possible to pull everything out and clean it, even better. I had those gnats my first grow, cleaned everything and only use store bought soil and now no bugs. Also some clones from people will carry it, thats why I only grow from seed. Too many shops arpund here sold clones with spider mites on them.:weed::weed::weed:

when do you plan on flowering switching to 12:12? im about to grow SB and two others in a tent grow looking for input. thanks
Hi mate, I'll probably switch light cycles when they're about a foot tall, so probably in another two weeks or so. So that would be about 6 weeks from seed. Assuming 8 weeks flowering, that's a 14 week grow end to end. I'm planning on them growing to maybe 2 foot by the end of the grow, but i'm not too sure on that, just see how it goes

The THC Bomb stays nice, short and bushy. I have grown it for 3 cycles but I am giving up on her ability to be cloned. I tried every product and every method. Hundreds of clones died without a single root fiber. I have 3 smaller THC bomb that are in the same boat as you. I have 2 mothers that are on their 12th day of flower. Feel free to follow the link in my signature if you care to follow the thread.

My THC Bomb from Marijuana-seeds.nl always take 9 and a half weeks to finish. I let mine go a bit longer than most see to though. I'm subscribed here bro. Good looking girls. Lets see the magic...

The SB will more than double when you do the switch to 12/12. At least mine did. I had to supercrop the tallest ones to keep it out of the light.:weed::weed::weed:

I've heard great things about the entire Bomb seeds range of seeds. I've personally grown out THC Bomb and loved growing it but the smoke was a little too strong for me. I'm a little older and can't handle the stronger strains anymore.
Good luck with the grow.

I had sort of hoped I'd be inducing flowering about now, but I'm still hangin out for them to reach that 1ft mark. They're around about 9-10in at the moment

Small lights = slower growth. I get a foot out of the THC Bomb at a month and a few days under the 600w. That S.B looks nice and dark. Your doing a good job of keeping the light right on them it looks like. They seem to be staying short and not stretching. Fluoros are nice because you can put them an inch or so above without any heat.

You could def. lose a few of those sun leaves from the middle of both plants. You can try to tuck them under but if they won't just snip em. The SB loves it.

Cheers for that, this is exactly the sort of help I'm lookin for. When I do do a bit of pruning, how do I decide what stays and what goes? Is it just any and all sun leaves are cut, or just the biggest ones or what?

Keep any leaf that can be spared. You have to make an executive decision on what should be left. Say for instance: you have a fan leaf that is blocking light to a few young branches. Try to tuck the leaf under them so they get more light. If tucking the leaf is impossible, consider cutting it off completely. You should try to keep as many leaves as possible. When it comes to getting the light to the new branches though, most times the new branches will do more for the plant than a single leaf.

It is all about light penetration. I would say 85% of my leafs get tucked and spared. The other 15% that get in the way I cut off. Again, keep every leaf you can, but branch growth is important enough to lose a few leafs to make that possible. It is a decision you will quickly master and feel more comfortable making the more you must do it.
