My question is that the root is extending past the foam about an inch (it’s almost touching the water.) I’ve no idea how long the stem is because it hasn’t surfaced yet… but since I’m planning on shifting to a larger system, I’d really like this in some rockwool. If I try to transfer to a different medium now will I kill it?

P.S. FrootyNuggets. Read the entire thread. It took 3 days but it's the only way. Also if you can return the AeroGarden, you might want to think about it. Ultimately when I get up and runing I'll probably only use it as a cloner. Check out AsianKate's grow thread, I think she might have the right system for a newbie. Get her number too

You should try the transplant as soon as possible if you wait too long the roots grow really fast. I use my AG for starting plants and I am going to try cloning with it. I transplant once the stem starts showing some thickness.

The herb setting is the best for veg stage it is 17/7 most people shoot for 18/6. There is no setting for flowering however, which needs to be 12/12. I cut the wire to the lights and gave the lights their own power supply and timer. The nutes that come with the AG are junk, they will burn the plants up. The main problem is the tank is not big enough for the root system, one plant will completely fill the tank. When you switch from veg to flower the plant will double or triple in size. The AG is just not a good system for growing weed.....

Sounds like undernute... this can be just as dangerous as overnute in DWC/Aero/NFT systems. I'll need to see a pic' to be sure... I already made that mistake once. Descriptions sometimes don't equate to the actual problem.

Well here is my baby 31 days old...leaves seem healthly no yellow. I guess my main concern is I read a post from someone that said his plants grew but didn't produce. Going to rig the hood for more height soon. I'm probably doing ok for a rookie, just being impatient.

In addition to the nutes included by ag master garden what else could I put in, that would be cheap and add what the nutes I have don't.

I was wondering if there was any way to do 12/12 on with the aerogarden. I was wondering if i could unplug it and plug it in but i was wondering what other people did to flower there buds.

I just wanted to know if there was some simple ways to flower in the aerogarden putting the light on 12/12 hours..
One more questian is that for the nutes do i only have to buy one or two of them or do i have to buy the hole 6 FF nutes. i kinda am short on money and only want to buy the grow big and big bloom and hope to be good. Thanks for any feed back..

Headspace seems to be limited, so if you plan on flowering with it

3 whole plants all in one 4litre container? How big were they? I grew 3 whole plants in an 18litre container, still one of them was strangled, and died. Plants do not like to share... give the roots only a small space to grow in by all means... but in that amount of room roots strangle each other when plants are put together... it's every plant for itself.

This has happened to me twice, and in an 18litre grow space for the 3 plants. What i've found through personal experience, is that when sharing, plants will require a minimum of 10litres each, if you are to bring every plant through healthily.

Plants love their space.. Keep us posted with close up pics.

Hey Everyone, it's great to have you guys to consult with. I wanted to post a pic of things now, my babies shot up real quick recently it seems. After some initial trouble with sprouting, I kind of went overboard, and I've got 5 plants going right now. I figured that was OK, because some would be lost in sexing. But there are 2 whom are a bit troubling. One of the ones that was initially strong is just looking floppy and weak these days. Sorry I couldn't get my camera to focus, but it's the one in the front. The other one in the front is looking real good. All the others look good as well, despite the one whom I hurt a little after sprouting. I have 2 questions...

1. Is it too soon to nip the top of the biggest one, I want to keep the plants as small as possible, so I'm going to try and pinch the top. I wonder when is the right time for that.

2. Should I pull the weakest limpy one to give room for her sisters?

Here's the photos, thanks for the advice... man, they're already starting to smell good.



p.s. Thanks to Nekroman and Skunkushybrid for your responses! Nekroman, I'm using a reflective mylar at the moment. But why would you recommend against mirrors?

that does not look an aero garden to me????

I'd wait till space is an issue. Sometimes the smallest ones will be a fat beast. When the room is needed pull the ones you want out. Hard to say the strength of your plant now, but I'd say give her another growth or two before topping. Although there seems to see more top growth I can see, will there leave plenty of leafs left to continue growth with top off?

this was actually my third attempt at the aero garden. same thing each time, they double or triple in size during flower. the hole is not big enough for the stem and tank is not big enough for the root system....

That system looks decent for vegging, but that's about it...

It might pay off to invest in a seperate flowering system with
enough head space and room for roots.

the reason to use use reflective mylar is that its about 80 to 95% reflective where as mirrors seem like the obvious choice it actually absorbs light instead of reflecting it as good as say gloss white paint or mylar or even regular white paint.
white paint=good 65-75%reflective
gloss white paint=better 75-85% reflective
reflective mylar=best 85-95% reflective.

I just ordered my AG about 2 days ago as well as some foxfarm nutes and 2 extra full spec. cfl's...I'll post some pics of the grow room once it's all finished. I've read through this entire thread and from what I have seen I feel pretty confident that i can pull this off. So thanx to those of you who have givin me hope!
