If microbes make it bioavailable in the root zone, how does foliar work? Is it like intravenous lol

Overall it can be concluded that foliar sprays with silicates can be used as an environmentally safe pesticide due to the formation of an effective physical barrier of Si, deposited on leaf surfaces, and due to the osmotic effect of the applied silicates.

There is no direct effect on growth and development.

Silica, on the other hand has a lot more benefits including growth

The best, most noticable, use I have found for it so far is with stretchy plants like GMO. Not sure about the finished product yet but using power si as a foliar the first week and a half of flower kept her much shorter than my last run and the stacks seem tighter as well

Thanks for the links. So it's great for resistance via foliar. I wonder how efficient root drench in an inert medium is compared to foliar for resistance. Or if it's just been a potassium boost.

What's your medium and do you add microbes?

Its not the silica in power SI that is doing that.

For whatever reason my ph rises instead of falls these days so I'm using more ph up, instead of replacing ph up i bought potassium silicate.

It's 34% silica compared to growth technology 6% with some other bits and pieces, it's stronger than ph up and early signs suggest it's stable in small amounts of nutrients.

Outside of ph I've not much faith in the alleged claims of silcon, when I did use it in the past i couldn't see any difference.

Coco and perlite. Was using recharge at that point

Care to elaborate? All I know is it's the only thing different this round other than maybe slightly lower temps and humidity. I think you're saying it's something else in the power si? That's the only way I've used it so far and admittedly haven't researched it. All I know is compared to my last round of GMO, this round was 4" taller when I flipped and I still didn't end up too close to my light like last time. I'd guess it chopped about 6 inches off of her.

I use 40% mono-silicic acid in my hydro. It's not cheap, but it's super concentrated for you don't need much, 1.3ml per 10gals. I only use it intermittently during veg and first couple/few weeks in flower. It doesn't mess with ph the way silicates do. It's even better/cheaper when used as a foliar spray. I spray no more often than once every two weeks, and no later than week 2 of flower. It's a biostimulant when in readily available form like this.

PowerSI has boron, molybdenum, fulvic acid, and other "proprietary ingredients." Also has an NPK of 1.22-2.14-0.90

Does chitin/chitosan fit into this discussion? Always considered it a silica source but that might not be correct. I use Kraken from NftG which is shrimp/crab shell and phosphoric acid. I’d have to check but I haven’t noticed pH trouble with it. Don’t need much.

I’ll notice a difference in my plants overnight. Will literally go from bendable to braking branches and I’ve never tried to foliar it though you can. I couldn’t hardly use it with a Scrog.

Not sure it makes any difference to the flowers though I’ve only used it for floppy branches.

Can you elaborate on silica's role in becoming a juggernaut and what criteria must be met in order to be considered having juggernaut status? I think I understand the metaphor, but I am using it only for disease resistance and to counteract the pH drop from maxibloom. Having the best sword isn't the goal, so I don't think it's useless in all other applications. This is assuming I'm using it right and the shit works lol
sorry milkshake i swear i wasn't ignoring you, i was tied up.
@Rurumo uses aspirin i think for disease resistance always wanted to look into that idea but never followed up with her
