This one is basically water glass (potassium silicate), which is obviously a lot less expensive than silic acid products.

You can get potassium silicate for less than $5 per quart, that's a quarter of the price of "TPS Gold". So it's actually expensive.
Not correct.

No shit, dude. Everyone uses CalNit whether they know it or not. Now what are you going to do if you need more Calcium without adding more N? The answer is gypsum. I rest my case.
My formula is balanced in a way that I have adequate Calcium, so it's not an issue for me. There is more Calcium in CalNit than there is Nitrogen. It's pretty balanced, which is why it's so common in agriculture.

I searched your linked page for silica...um only one mention of silica and not related to silica accumulation...are you just trying to be confrontational?
i misread what you said earlier and thought you were saying cannabis is a non-accumulator plant in general. you said only for Si.
how can a plant be an accumulator in general but not for certain elements? that makes no sense to me. i don't think they can be a cafeteria accumulator where they take some elements but not others. but i've been wrong plenty before. just ask my wife.

Avoid using anything with chloride in the roots. Tap water has enough. Calcium chloride is good for foliar.
i use well water and b/t that and my nutes, i've only had 1 strain show a Ca defic. i was showing there is an option to provide Ca w/o Cal nit.

Really bad idea to put that in the roots. Can be used solo as a foliar tho.

Most hydro growers aren't going to be using tap water. A bit of chloride is fine, and actually needed in EC 0 water:

There is more to life than hydro. It's not all about you.

This is what FloraFlex says about Cl

Chlorine (CI) is required in very small quantities and there is usually enough in the water supply. Chloride toxicity is a more common problem and this is the reason chloride is usually not included in most feed programs including ours.
