I generally clean and oil my reels and the brakes/brake cylinder. Well the ones I'm able to at least. Costs 35$ and Shimano will clean and oil your rig, plus fix whatever you need. Takes like a week. Worth it imo.Been a while, but at the start of every salmon season i usually take apart my reels and clean everything. Grease the gears and oil the bearings.
When casting my 301’s from the bank, with no brakes on, i have to keep the bearings oiled.
Do you oil the bearings?
doesn’t matter when i put those reels on the boat rods but when you’re trying to cast a mile it really does.
