The Good, The Bad & The Ugly

from what I understand them being firm in the rockwool is good, had read that the ones someone had that were not tightly stuffed in the rockwool did not root, the ones that were in it snug(like we all like it to be) sprouted roots. a bud of mine just started some white shark & purple haze clones & they just rooted so they are now in soil as of today, will be interesting to see the progression vs the WW. good luck

I havent misted them directly...well maybe once or twice since Monday. I'll back the lights up a bit. I keep them under the dome all day except for about 15 minutes.

All advice always appreciated. I'll take a pic in a day or two and you can compare.

And I'll remove the dome gradually...more fresh air per day.

my bud had too much light on his & he was using an agrosun 60 watt gro bulb. he backed it off & most of them rooted. as long as they are still green you are good. the whitening up at the bottoms apparently is a good thing as they will calis over before the roots start to form. the learning process is very frustrating @ times, if only this cloning shit were as easy as everyone makes it sound...

midgradesouth-Your water cloning sounds good as many probs as we have had that will need to be tried. What size coffee jug to use? How soon do you put in soil? as soon as you see roots, or do you wait until they have some size?

Yeah the cloning is a challenge...but the payoff can be tremendous. Im taking Mids suggestions to heart and starting by backing away from the light.

2 23w cfls may be overkill. And I could lighten up on the misting.

You know the large coffe that is usually in a tin can with a plastic top.
They also have plastic jugs that are shaped like the can and they have plastic lids of course.
If I am not mistaken they have smaller sizes as well.
I got the biggest.
You know family size.

It usually takes me 10-12 ds I should say to get roots.

I pull them as soon as the roots are atleast 1/2" long.
Most people would tell you to wait.
You can I am sure it would make it even easier.

I put them into plastic solo cups with my pre mixed soil.
I cut drainage holes in the cups of course.
I soak the soil completely first.
I then insert the clones and water them again in about 4-5 ds.

What gives me my success rate is that I learned how to cut the clones properly.

45 deg angle.
I like to wait until the clones are 5-7 "s with side branches on them before I cut them and put into water.
The more mature the clone is to begin with the better and stronger the plant will become.

I should say the bigger the clone the easier it is to root and grow.

Mid...I gotta admit. I was antsy to get to flowering so I took cuttings a week or two sooner than the masterplan called for.

yup once you get it down it is much easier than growing from seed.

Usually from seed you want to veg 30 ds. ( I went 21 on my first grow)

From water cloning I can have bud every 2 mo's not including drying and curing.

I probally should not have put my clone mom in flower.
I started a new mom from clone.
Second generation.
I plan to keep it for as long as I can until it starts degrading the quality of the bud.

I have the room for about 30 clones in flower at all time.
I am just going for 10 right now every 2 mo's

Once again I hope this does not come across as sarcastic.

I hope those 2 23 w cfls are on the other side of the room.
Clones need very little light.

I like to put mine on my sink in my bathroom.
No dome.
The humidity in there seems much higher.

I keep the 60w incadescent ceiling light on 24/7.
It is about 6 ft away.

How much you avg per harvest, Mid?

Last time it was 1/2 oz - 1 oz per plant and I had 3.
So roughly 2.5 oz out of 3 plants that were 18-24" tall.

I have 10 clones that have been topped 3 times each.
I plan to get atleast an oz per on them.
I figure 2+ on the mom that I am flowering.

I am hoping to get my sea of green going in my yellow submarine up in here.

This harvest I hope for 6-10 oz's and then probally 6 oz's every 2 mo's until I fill this lil freezer I have.

Hell If I had the right kinda of money I could get you just about any kind a green that you would like.

We have got about 6 differnet nugg selections right now from local long time growers.

so no rooting compound? you put the clipping strait in the water? shit, it's gotta be easier then these damn rockwool cubes anyway. but as much has been said about lighting, i am starting to think my bigger problem may have been too much light

Northern Lights
White Widow
Bc Kynde Bud
NY Sour Diesel
Ak-47
Bubblegum
Sometimes Blue Berry. (not a big fan )
California Orange
California Orange hash
Purple something another.

I guess that might be more than six.
It seems to fluctuate and change from time to time.

Yep.
Once again not to be picking on Blood shot.
The pic of his clones shows the leaves curled up.
That is from to much light and not enough air circulation.
