i can just tell if buds aint been flushed they give off a weird taste dont burn right and like i said people just wont go near it if i dont flush
yeah the eternal debate lol
we are on the same team on this subject rob lol
if you feed perfectly which is very hard in soil , you can get away without flush
but as long as the plant dont yellow, i would give them water

he is their for the views and the $, he is upfront about that.
Not saying he is the best person in the world to listen to but if u watch his you tube vids you do pick up allot of basic growing skills. And thats what the majority of new indoor growers want and need. Its what anyone lacks when they start something or are getting back into after a long break.
He isnt a Kevin Jodrey but the Grow Boss does side by sides, talks about the 3 tent rotation with numbers, tells u Nutrients are all the same (and he sells them) And he is easier to listen to than that Jorge and is more informative.
I asked way less silly questions on this forum after i watched his vids. I've never bought anything off him. 1/2 his luck if he turns over some $ for it.
Pick any grower and all of us will disagree with something they do, however small.
I’d like to add by saying he’s teaching noob growers, that red lining a grow (max Nutes, watering every day, putting the lights 12” from the canopy, etc) when you first start, doesn’t give much room for mistakes. I’ve learned to back off on all of it, increases the chance of a better grow. And really a cost savings since your no longer using so much. “Less is more”... with something a noob is not yet familiar.

As for flushing...
so perhaps there were still some nutritient residue in the pots/soil itself so the plants had other sources?
Then there is supersoil where a grow can be done with watering purewater at all times w/o fertilizers. In such a grow what would the term "flush" mean anyway?

Your plants control what they eat. They are not helpless in nutrient delivery ..they eat when they want...
Plants at the end of their photoperoid dont eat....

flushing is about saving money

not sure plants choose what they eat, especially in hydro
imo if you feed perfect you will never go over 1.5 mS even less so even without flush the nutrient locked in the plant will be in negligible quantities

If this is true then how do you explain nute burn up to the point of being toxic. I've seen plants die from this.
Once mineralic nute is dissolved in water a plant has very little control to not absorb it because the evaporation feed will suck the water-nute mix in.

Apples and oranges, nutrient burn and flushing...

As far as nutrient burn what you are seeing can be many things....

Most often its because the nutrient delivery type is imbalanced.

Plants are efficiency machines...they will always eat what is readily avialable. Nutrients competes for absorption at the root level. If you plant is efficiently absorbing one nutrient it is also ineffciently absorbing another....this is why growers utilize pH swings to make nutients readily available but this does not imply you are feeding the plant...its simply eating whats readily avialable...cutting hairs but it matters

It is your job to make sure it has what it needs. If you are not supplying the right nutrients and or havent properly amended your soil correctly of course, you will see deficiencies and toxicity

Nute burn is an outcome not the source of the issue...

The proper meaning of flush is Leaching. Stoners use word one for like 3 different things. I hate the term and its confusing. But yes Flushing in soil is called Leaching.

well I can agree with this because it reads alot more differentiated and situational than this
Your plants control what they eat.
