Harvest Pics

Harvested Purple Flo Tuesday night . Not a good yield due to overfertilization and foilage loss .I pulled all the popcorn and jarred it yesterday . It weighed 16 grams ,still a little wet so it's back and forth from paper bags and jars right now . Looking like right around an oz .

Flowering plants are doing well . I will go ahead and cut the PE scrog tonight and replace it with Blueberry Express which I transplanted to a 5g nursery pot. The other PE is stunted , it's around 6wks but looks like a 3wk plant . I believe this one I broke the rootball while transplanting . Medibud is just plain phenomenal still and the PF Bush is reacting well to it's first photo periods .:) Going to work on Flo today and train her some before she stiffens up :) Also will be starting all my seeds for the outdoor vegetable garden bed . Been real busy this past week , it has been a productive time for sure :)
 
Hell yeah man! And you got some smoke out of your work so a pretty damn good week, eh? What's that upturned blue tub thing over a fan leading to a duct? Is that some sort of homemade carbon scrubber or something?

Yup nice productive week . The blue thing is my DIY blower , It's an 8 " home depot fan , I adapted the blue bucket to it to be able to change over to duct . It runs during the day and warms the flower box while it's dark .Probaly wont need it in the summer time .

Me too , most stuff can be recreated at home and I hate how just because some things are marketed specifically for indoor growing they charge more for it . Like for example the Stealth RO system costs around 250? Same setup by G.E. "more reputable company" at Home Depot costs around 150,and it comes with a holding tank . Why they got to take advantage of us?
 
It's just business man. As long as people are willing to buy it, there are going to be people willing to market it to them specifically and sell it. It's up to the consumer to inform other consumers about the products true nature, IMO. Basically, don't hate the player, hate the game. One of the best examples is probably AN. lol. I don't hate AN specifically, it's a damn good business. You want to blame someone, blame the people that support them blindly.
 
Nothing much to update today . I didn't cut the PE scrog yet , it recovered better than the PF although it lost the most foilage , she is still producing buds and pushing out new sugar leafs . So she is not quite mostly cloudy yet but there is a hint of amber here and there.

The Blueberry Express is digging her new home in the 5g in the mean time . It's not a good idea to transplant right at the flip anyways best to give them some time to establish themselves in the new pot first:)

ISS is still vegging in the #3 .She is still sending shoots up . Probaly go ahead and get her in a 5g after BE goes up and let her get alot bigger ,she still has roughly 3 wks till flower time.

Most notable are the Plush Berry and CheeseQuake they have just been simply exploding everyday since they got transplanted to the 6" pots and plain Happy Frog .:) They are the most aggressive I've grown yet , def. ones to watch .

Then Flo last but not least has responded well to training and is growing exceptionaly everyday as well.
Will get picks up later .

Also got to test out my Isohash tonight . Smoked very nice got full melt on it . Burns down to nothing and gives off a big hit of smoke . Very nice :)

Yes it can be done . We all can't afford a nice PH meter so alot of us resort to the Liquid test kits . Be sure when you buy one it is a wide range kit like you find at the Hydro Store . The Aquarium kits are of a narrow range not quite suitable to gardening needs . Most people don't like these kits because you can only be accurate to a half not down to a tenth of a point .It will get you where you need to be and establish a base line for further testing.

This test will be treating 5g.First thing is to test your tap water . All these tests was done on the same batch of water that had been sitting for 24 hours .(tip) Brita filters remove chlorine . If you can run your water through one of these filters no need to wait on chlorine to vape off.
So let's take our first sample and see where we are at :)

As you can see we are between 7 and 7.5 .Any lighter it would be between 6.5 and 7 , any darker it would be 7.5 to 8 . So this is accurate to half a point .

Now that's not too too bad but not what we want . Shooting for 6.5ish is what is wanted . So we are treating 5 gallons , we will start with 1 tbsp. of Apple Cider Vinegar and see what it does .

Okay so that put us at 6 to 6.5 . So that worked .As you can see by the color chart any lighter or any darker how it would be off .This is good enough for soil . The dolomite lime in your soil mix will buffer it the rest of the way .(6.8-7)

Keep this in mind when someone tells you 1tbsp to a gallon of water when using apple cider vinegar . It is not linear meaning with 1gal 1tbsp works but it doesnt mean 5 tbsp for 5 gallons . I did this and it actually had knocked it down to 4.5. So take the time to test your water and you can do the same thing everytime when mixing nutrient with accurate results. If I was feeding the next step would be to add the nutrient to the water , then test again and make adjustments if nessesary .Take notes and write it down . Best to double check it every so often as well if your on city water . Sometimes they change up on you . Hope this helps someone:leaf:

Sweet dude, ya my Ph runs about 7 to 7.5, sweet that apple cider vinegar lowers it. so 1 tbsp to 1 gallon and makes it perfect thats really good to know for sure!! Just dont make more than 1 gal. at a time lol.

My soil keeps it perfect in 6.5 to 7 but would be nice to drop water that was actually PH decent.

Yeah I like to drop it . When the buffers are spent in your soil the Ph can wander , I like to keep an eye on it after week 4 especially since I discovered that my 6wk PE had just nute locked on me . I flushed it the other day with low ph water and it stayed low , never bufferred back up so I had to flush her again with some 6.5 water .The next day the PH had returned , so I,ll be top dressing some dolomite lime on her to keep it in check .I usally never check PH but now that I'm into flushing I discovered that problem .You always here "I grow in soil I never check PH" not good advice to follow .It's def best to water or feed with 6.5-.8 water all the time and definatly start checking soil PH after week 4 in flowering .:)
 
Yeah, I personally never check mine either. I have water that comes out to about 7 to 7.1 though, and since Jack's is acidic, it brings it down to good levels. However, when I start making it rain soon I'll be checking a lot more often since you have to make the "rain" more acidic.

Yup same here thats why I had to start checking and testing it . It helped me save a plant that has quit flowering for a couple weeks, now it's shooting out new ones over night :)
