The Halloween thread...

1st off I have always ALWAYS loved Halloween.. best times were in CT Navy housing -tons of 4 family 4 bedroom condo's all connected to each other.. front doors were like 10 feet apart and it was a massive complex over 150 complexes) and we hit them all!!


So every year for 19 years we have put up decorations and passed out candy to the little ones.. Were not doing any of it this year.. We noticed about 19 years ago this neighborhood was excellent for taking the kids around due almost everyone participating..

last few years most of the folks have moved out and now no one here but a few are even decorating or taking their kids out.. even my kids are not into it this year I doubt they even dress up..

Halloween really did not become popular till the late 50's or so I think it's run it's course..

anyone else having the same issues locally?

anyone dressing up?

I agree, Halloween isn't as big as it seemed, say 30yrs ago. I think way less kids are out and not as late as they used to.
I'm still going to decorate and scare the shit out of all the lil shits, but not the little, little ones.
Every year my girlfriend and I smoke a bunch, catch a good buzz, and laugh our asses off... I love Halloween

Yes. I'm throwing a halloween party for my grandkids and a few of their friends. My moms coming down, shes a party animal, and we're going to get highly medicated and dress up with the kids.

If your playing with the math, the kids come early around here.

I live across the street from this rather large subdivision (ok, LARGE subdivision) and most streets are cul de sacs and people come from far and wide to comb the streets for candy. It's almost unbelievable, people bring family members to sit and make sure they don't get parked in. They don't care if they park in your driveway or on your lawn.

But, the kids are cute and mom's/dad's usually look very tired.

My house kind of looks haunted all year round. I get 0 trick or treaters. My neighbors told me the local kids refer to it as "the house with the scary tree". My driveway is also a bit of walk. I would've skipped me too.

My place too neo ....they'd have to make a special trip here, cuz we got no neighbors! Not great for candy collecting.

Lol, when I was a youngen we would go to the rich neighborhoods and anybody who had a grand uphill driveway got skipped. Lights on or not.

My wife and daughter are going out. My wife loves Halloween, she puts out decorations and her and my daughter get all dressed up. I think they're vampires this year.

It has slowed down the last few years though, they have set times now and it makes it difficult for some families.

With the little one here now, I was thinking Halloween- little kids, candy, cute costumes. I forgot the true meaning of Halloween. Hot women dressing like sluts. Mrs. Neo was totally a maid one year. Give me a day, I bet I can find a pic. :cool:

It has changed around here. Some places are not celebrating it at all. That sucks (muahahaaaa) because I love how times like that make the city feel like the lake. People hang lights and all that kind of stuff. Actually, you're likely to enjoy a rye or southern or sourpuss or brandy somewhere on the way depending on how cold it is. People will also set up their fire pits on the driveway and sit around.

When I still lived in the country it was cool. Zero worries.
