The Ideal spectrum.

Another interesting research about stomatal opening..this time related to UVB light.. It seems that at least in beans… the stomatal aperture is driven at its maximun by UVB plus Deep red... so photosynthesis at its máximum (goal) in veg...can be obtained adding some UVB (and Deep red plus CO2)..seems that UVB acts over the same photoreceptors than blue, but are much more efficient…

Without having a huge set up to check all these things you could spend a lifetime trying to work it all out. I think the first step is to focus on tuning the spectrum to see how opening stomata compares to a fixed spectrum.

I have already thought about how to use lasers, it maybe an option too. Might be the most expensive option though.
There is a Saudi upstart working on it. I will never buy from them but wouldn't it be great for someone from a free and reasonable company getting into laser grows.

It is really expensive right now to use lasers, I do like what the potential is though.

Cars will have laser headlights soon, as the prices start to come down on lasers it definitely a viable option. Right now to cover a 4X4 you won't see any spare change out of $10,000

My guess is that the laser solution will be a combination of similar technology to a laser projector and a 3d scanner. Eventually there should be little need for wasted light on walls, floors, etc.

That's my thoughts also, but I can do that already with the current technology

Since its relative to hps it would mean that it lost less weight from fresh to dry.
Mmmm.. Good catch... I see what you're saying. I was starting to just discredit the data. Ill have to look again too see if my interpretation changes.

EDIT:
I guess I'd conclude that yield is more dependent on SPD than leaf count, number of flower/bud sites, and overall leaf surface area, at least within the tomatoes tested here..

A couple of papers, that might help some out in here some.
