P_S forgot to ask how the new job is going?
Good, I have a corner office and a company car, worked out better than I thought but I was looking forward to getting my original job as a grower for a dispensary, my buddy is a great mentor and he just created a new strain and is working on finding a stable pheno, it is chernobyl x goji OG. I hope he finds a good one!

In the same boat myself. Plus I only ever order 1 or 2 at a time and I liked the idea of the internal country post rather than having to cross custom boundaries. Quite liked the Kannabia range. going with Expert and dinafem this time.

Good to hear. The company car's are great at saving a few beans for other pursuits. Its a pity the original plan didnt work out but at least you are still in the mix and learning stuff. Creating a strain would be such a kick. But you would need the space and time to work on it.

True. But that the case outside the border too. Still think you are more likely to come a cropper for traffic/parking offenses or other stupidity. I liked the irishseedbank because at the time I was getting a lot of eltronic parts on ebay for repairs and a lot of them were turning up with customs seals on them. I wont be ordering seeds again for a long time. Just going to clone what I have and pop a bagseed for a bit of variety.

Oh he has the space and is now a breeder and a grower, he is being mentored by the main breeder. So we shall see what comes of this cross and what he will name it. I will keep you posted.

But why would they raid companies that only sell seeds?
These companys are targets for DS, not only that but think of your name being on an invoice in little Ireland. That name could be seen by anyone like accountent etc. COULD BE YOUR NEIGHBOUR. Thats my reason for not ordering in Ireland. I heard of some irish seeds companys threatening to release your name if you complain to them. Believe it was weedseeds.

weedseeds are selective scammers, weve all seen anecdotal evidence here about the rest.

had seeds opened by customs nbd, if it was 100+ pack maybe id be little worried.

@ghostdogalpha whats in your compost, also the netflix vpn story was nonsense.

Heard similar in early posts on this thread. At the end of the day, no matter how you reason it, we are engaged in an activity outlawed in this state. Its allways going to be a question of risk v's reward. If you are comfortable with the risk, go for it, if not, dont. Just do your research. In my case I figured the risk of ordering one or two seeds at a time from an irishseedbank was worth it. Others disagree. In terms of service etc..I cant fault them. I got what I ordered. It was well packaged and discreet. But in fairness I am ordering one or 2 seeds, at a max of about 20e, so I have limited experience. "Weedseeds" have a shite rep so just wouldnt touch them with a barge pole. But thats the case with any online purchase, be it seeds or a washing machine.

Yeah...the netflix thing was a washout. Going to keep my eye on it though, cause it was a suspiciously highly ranked story. My instinct told me that they arent going to be spending resources looking at vpn nodes, so I am just wondering is it a shot across the bow in terms of a crackdown on stuff? Isp's etc under big pressure at the mo regarding unlimited access to net so things are going to change, not because they should but because isp are gonna start getting sued and they know it.
The compost question is simpler. I likes compost I does. The aim for me is to build up a good organic compost soil base and then bulk it out with perlite and non-peat compost for drainage. Or at least thats the Holy Grail. Ultimately, the aim is for a soil mix that doesnt require ferts other than a mag boost and low orgainic flowering nutes till half way through flower. So the emphasis is on the bacteria in the soil rather than the soil. The biggest problem with that is that I cant use tap water due to its bacteria killing properties. I exclude from the compost anything worms dont like, so no onion(butt onion skins), no chili or garlic. I use alot of fire pot from a coal/peat/wood fire. Into this mix is added sea shells(actual sea shells crushed to a sand, avoid barnacles cause they are a cunt to crush), seaweed from the beach(prefeer the sundried variety cause it less hassel) and manure (low straw cause it takes forever to break down). And I recycle all my soil. And use grass cutting's as an insulator in winter.
I think @zedd is close to having a full botanical recipe for this. I am aiming for the middle road. I am not an organic warrior by any means. I am just looking for a quality soil base that doesnt require exotic mixes, can be done by anyone and that the only cost is time. Plus..its fun.
The only change this year will be the worm farm. Been wanting to do this for a while, but I only have the time/cash to do it this year.

would never of guessed that was him, hope he wins an award.

thought the netflix story was down shitty journalism, but the shot across the bow idea has me thinking.

you can bubble tap water and off gass the chlorine, think if your in a rush mixing in molasses can do it to. the compost sounds interesting, would go gentle on the ash, its very alkaline,if you dont grow many plants and want to keep it all simple making a load of nettle tea extract during the summer could be good, what about pest prevention?

The Netflix thing is prob me being paranoid. There is just this background shift towards censor ship on entry points to the web. The lawyers have gone after down loaders themselves as well as hosting related sites, and have gotton nowhere. Downloaders just anomise and hosts just shift their server to another country or just change protocols, So content access is the next thing they are after. Chokeing the ISP is the simplest. But I think throttling content providers is the next thing.

Thanks for the Nettle tea idea. Was looking into this too. I like the idea of teas cause its pretty straight forward if your organized. I am wary of the ash too. I am adding bonemeal too at the moment.
