right so, after reading around the thing that sticks out is your plants are comsumeing all the nutes so try riseing your ppm a little it should keep the ph down....

haven`t a clue if it works but the internets says it will...
you really think so? my ec is 0.4 for the seedling and i really dont want to burn it again, ill put a pic or two up later when lights come on, also had to kill one of my bag seed plants as it was showing me balls this morning

So some updates on the coco hempy buckets since a few people seem interested. The idea is that you get a normal household bucket (no holes in it) and drill a hole 5 cm from the bottom of it, just one half inch hole. Now up to that level you fill with 100% perlite (washed first) and the rest of the bucket you fill with 100% coco. Now what you have is a highly oxygenated medium that doesn't need to be watered very often.

When you feed the bucket, up until the drainage hole will be filled with nute solution and when the roots hit this level the growth explodes. Also the coco will wick up moisture as it needs it from the rez. In the early stages of growth you only need to feed once a week, in full flowering it will be every 2-3 days depending on the size of your bucket and plant (I use 10 litres). This has to be the most hassle free way of growing, and I love it.

First I started the plants in 1 litre airpots planted directly into coco. The one on the left was much weaker from the start and kept falling over until about when this pic was taken at 1 week from sprouting.

Week 2 I got the girls into their hempys, at the time my PH meter was out of whack so I was feeding them at about 6.2 ph for this week, the healthy girl didn't seem to mind at all though, they also both got topped above the 2nd node right before the pic as well. You can see the difference between the healthy one and the stunted one quite clearly. Also you can see the holes in the buckets abut 4 cm from the bottom, anything below that is my rez filled with 100% perlite.

And the pics taken today at week 3, the stunted plant hasn't put out any new growth in the last 2 or 3 days. I flushed it yesterday with a 1EC solution at 5.8ph so hopefully I should see some improvement, If I don't within a week or two I will just throw her out and fill up the screen with the healthy one. Look at the branching on the healthy one and compare the growth with week 2. This will be a monster I am sure. I think 3 more weeks of veg should have the tent filled up pretty well with her and ready to flip into flower.

Looking great... Seems to be a great way to grow... (spent the whole day reading up all about it)

Gonna try and give it a shot in an old beer can as a side project..!

I think i am going fucking mad!

My water ph is 6.7 straight out of the tap ok, i have my brita filter that i changed today after running a liter of water through it twice for one of the girls, and i added 1ml of a&B to make an ec of 0.9 and after i mixed it my ph pen says the ph is 5.8 so i go recalibrate the ph pen and it still shows it at 5.8 ph, normally the nutes dont change the ph

if your still with me heres where it gets crazy, after i put that batch of food to one side i make another batch for the other girl with a lower ec of 0.6 and this time i change the brita filter to see what difference the ec is with a dirty filter, and its not much different so i add the nutes and make it ec 0.6 and go to ph test thinking it would be 5.8 like the batch i just made before it and no the ph is 6.7! whats going on??? was the older brita filter still working well and reducing the ph while the new filter isent working right yet? cant understand it lolol

How come it brought the ph down in one batch and not in the other tho?

ae ive tested the ec of the water after boiling it and its the same, plus i have mostly been using the bottled water i know is fine

thats strange in the extreme, so both batchs are diffierent and its just the filter thats changed.. leads me to say its the water kang, if you can scrape the cash together i`d get the ro filter even the small one for the fridges, think there about 60notes if i remember rightly..

and a better job than the brita filter, not knocking the brita but maybe its just not up to the job, you said yourself the water up there being on the coast is harder than most, even the rain water is high salt levels....

I am on my way out the door here but ill ask this, does anyone know why my ph is riseing in the coco? i ph the nutes to 5.8 but i am having yellowing and ill health and my soil ph tester is showing both my plants in coco have a ph of between 7-8 rather than 5. why is it doing that and how do i counter act it? one girl is in coco and other is coco hempy
Was confused until AE posted later saying you were using brita water, tell me if this is true!

I was having the problem before i got the brita filter so yeah i am out of bottled water and last two feeding ive passed the water through a brita jug as the water ec is 0.25 and after i pass it through the brita the ec is 0.12

Oh it is true, it's the brita filter fucking your plants up. Never ever ever ever use brita filtered water for feeding plants. The way brita filters the water is it replaces the contaminants with sodium. It is not advised for people on low sodium diets to drink filtered water for that reason. R/O water is different obviously because it removes all sodium and everything else. Sodium builds up to a toxic level in the medium and it can't be flushed out because you are feeding it with more sodium enhanced water.

would that cause the ph to rise? whats the component parts to the filter? would it be releaseing something into the water to cause it to rise?

are you serious? how come the ec is lower not higher? it cant be fucking up my plant yet cause the girl in hempy has only been getting the bottled water and tonight will be her first time getting brita
