I may trim some lower leaves that i know wont produce much but I am using a 400w hps for flower, fuck me I checked my ppm's today and it was 2000 but it didn't seem to bother the plant. I put some regular water in the res to lower the ppm's to 800.

ah so your hydro aswell... well your out of my league md but there are plenty here on the hydro and hps they`ll enjoy the tech talk cause i don`t even measure ph never mind ppm`s hahahahahaha...

on the leaves tho, i don`t think that removeing some really has that bad an affect on a plant, and i think from doing that it helps to produse more of the smaller leaves and these are the ones that i think are important, for feeding the plant, maybe in the wild they need the bigger ones for light and photosyntisis etc ...

again all theroy, with the little bit of experimenting i have done its what i found, but i`m no botanist..

now can we talk heat from hps, say a 400w or 600w would they be in or around the same temps? say your room is constructed of ply, would the heat from the reflector or bulb be enough to say dis-colour the wood if it had to go close to it from plant height...

or is most of the heat develpoded from the ballast?


also from what i`m reading if i toss in 2 400w in my square footage its over kill, a 600w would be best, what you think? i have 2ft deep by 4.5ft long narrow i know but thats what i got to work with...

Every grow room / box that is subject to our awful elements will be different, due to insulation and bulb(s) used...

I noticed that when i upgraded my reflectors that the grow space temperature increased... For your space id recommend 2 x 250w..

Might not be everyones cup of tea, but the shape of you growing space would be ideal, wider foot print and also lower the reflectors if needs be... you could be wasting energy using a bigger bulb when your room is only 2 ft deep...

Lights on during the night will keep those chilly nights at bay..

i`m lights on in the day time, at night would be a good idea jay and not to hard to flip the hours from day to night, it was just handier at the start to have them on in the day, and 2 250w you say ummmm....

not a bad idea at all, will still yeild in the region i`m after and not too hard on leccy either.. will take it into consideration my friend...

oh, and he was sooooo right about that underbelly, just finished season one yesterday... tits and ass everywhere in it... oh and lads get shot inbetween ;)

Allright ae, not much change in my girls the little one seems to be ok still and the big one still has the fucked up fan leaves, i bought a bottle of Cannazym i hope will help as i never had any and alot of people say you need it in coco, idk what else to do to tell you the truth ive tried everything,

underbelly is good this new season is like breaking bad only alot better and more real life

caanazym... isn`t that for roots and strong growth? or will it sort out your ph you think? either way i think myself your through the worst of it, another week or two they should be strong enough for the led, or are you going to use the hps on this grow?


loveing the underbelly, i only get an hour here and there to watch it but you were right its very good veiwing and realistic to the letter, have done some googleing and looking at actual footage interveiws and photos, scary stuff ....

looking forward to how it plays out now...;)

Do you lads think that if I drilled a 5" hole though the exterior wall into the room the tent is in, put the ducting through it and just blew it straight out it would be a big visible mess once the temps got down to freezing? Blowing 20 degree air out to 0 degree air, good idea or no?

Edit: Don't care about heat sig

why do you need it to be 5", thats pretty big dude, i have a 4" hole here in the wall from the radon sump and that alones pretty big, would you consider a 3" hole that way you could slip on a gas exhaust cap on it and even if they were flir on it it would show up as gas burner exhaust ...

will still move as much air as you extractor fan can pull....

dont think i b growin in ensuite again serious heat when i turn house heatin on 100plus with door open.anyone have any clues how i can get the heat down.my intake is a 4inch extractor fan and the exaust is the same
