Steve Schmidt explains Donald Trump’s terrifying plans if he wins the 2024 election | The Warning

42,502 views Sep 15, 2023 The Warning
Steve Schmidt discusses how Donald Trump has rejected the legitimacy of elections and how he plans to tear this country apart if he wins in 2024.
He makes two excellent points.

1) the Democrats have not done a good job of communicating the severity of the threat posed by the maga/freedom caucus movement.

2) The media have entirely dropped the ball of describing the severity of the threat and isolating the fake news propagandist media.

People should be scared and angry about the right things, such as creeping corporate authoritarianism (which I think is making point 2 happen: capitalists are in a profound conflict of interest with a free and fair press and society), not the wrong things like pronouns or someone’s laptop.

There is not a lot the media can do about foxnews, OAN or Newsmax, in the print world not even the tabloids are as warped as the right-wing cable TV networks, fascism for profit. The government can't regulate their conduct and change the law until the Republicans have been removed from office and foxnews is their propaganda wing and has been giving them illegal political support for decades. All this needs to be addressed with public hearings and new laws and regulations based on those hearings. My point is rather simple, broadcasters should serve their communities and viewers, not abuse and manipulate them with lies that ruin their lives and in some cases like with covid and vaccines, kill them. They should foster social peace and eschew divisiveness for no reason other than whipping up people and manipulating their fears and bigoty for profit.

The regular media I watch, CNN and MSNBC offer dire warnings about Trump and the state of fascism in America, CNN made another turn again and are done with sucking the magats asses, there is no both sides coverage. There is no both sides with fascism, it is not politics or policy, it is criminal activity under political cover. For journalists to repeat their lies and deceptions as legitimate would do a disservice to their audience. Mitt was right, a large part of his party doesn't believe in democracy or the constitution and many are its enemy. It is not a fight between two political parties over policy, it is an existential fight for the constitution and the soul of America as its founding ethos slips away. Only one party is patriotic, if that is defined by loyalty to the US constitution and the rule of law and I don't know any other way to define it other than love of country and that includes all the people who live in it. Patriotism is actually about love and sacrifice, not wearing the flag as a Tee shirt or hat or using it to beat up cops while they storm the capitol. There were more Trump flags at the capitol than American ones. America is a multiethnic, multicultural state and the constitution and rule of law are the only tangible things that bind it together. It has no ancient history or culture, it is a modern multicultural state, as many liberal democracies are these days. Only the natives had an ancient culture and history, but we pretty well wiped that out.

That need for regulation of vital industries like the press has me slowly sliding left. I’m a social democrat at this point.

The trouble is that the press, minus public broadcasting perhaps, is run by capitalists. This shitshow is profitable even while it is like bathing the republic (republics; worldwide issue by now) in caustic. Media capitalists’ interests do not coincide with those of the society they expl(cough!)serve.

The capitalists like to tout Adam Smith's hidden hand, but this is to fundamentally misunderstand Smith, he also spoke of the other hand, that of government's role in regulating markets and trade. You have the product of decades of lobbying and palms greased for reduced regulation toothless regulators starved of funding and tax cuts and deals for everything imaginable. It wasn't just Reagan; he was the beginning of the end of the new deal, Bush one coined "trickle down" economics and Clinton forgot unions and pandered to corporate cash, Dubya was a disaster and crashed the economy with greed and deregulation in 2008. This gave America Obama and white trash America shit a brick, when he was reelected, THEY ARE TAKING OVER! Paving the reactionary way for Trump, with democratic incompetence, Russia's help and Comey's incompetence, Trump unexpectedly won, then Biden won by the same EC margin as Trump did, but with a way bigger popular vote than Hilary got. Obama saved the economy but was hamstrung by the republicans who were turning more racist by the day. We all know what Trump did to the economy and making the problems of wealth imbalance and cynicism even worse.

Wily old Joe leveraged his vast experience and many connections in congress to get a Helluva a lot done. Joe's job is only as good as the fools he has to work with, in this case Kevin's house. Joe's administration is very well staffed out and over the years he has accumulated lists of competent people. He staffed the Obama administration with competent honest people without a single scandal, because the republicans would have impeached him over nothing, just like with Joe now. The more honest the administration the more desperate they are to throw dirt on it.

I do wish his approval numbers were more in line with what he got done. They’re awful. I wonder if a press hostile to social democracy is a factor in this. I don’t know.

He’s backing the unions in the current automotive dispute. There is not nearly so much “national security now!” content as with the rail strike. Perhaps this could be progressive rapprochement.

Trump says competency tests ‘would be a good thing’ as age concerns cast shadow on 2024
Former President Trump suggested in an upcoming interview that he is “all for” competency tests, as concerns grow over age ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
When asked by “Meet the Press” moderator Kristen Welker what Trump makes of the age issue and if there should be a cap — the former president said “No.”

“But there should be a competency… I’m all for the test,” he continued, adding that he has already taken a test and “I aced it. I get everything right.”
“Im all for testing. I frankly think testing would be a good thing,” he told Welker in a “Meet the Press” interview set to air on Sunday. “A lot of people say it’s not constitutional to do it. But I would be for testing, to test to make sure everyone’s just fine. But a lot of people say that can’t happen because of Constitution.”

The age of a president has become a growing concern for Americans as Trump, 77 — who is leading for the Republican nomination for the 2024 presidential election — could potentially face a rematch in 2024 with President Biden, who is 80.
Recent polling from Quinnipiac University shows that six in 10 Americans think there should be an age cap for presidential candidates.
Trump said there shouldn’t be an age limit to running for president. He added that he doesn’t think he, or Biden, are too old for the White House.
“I’m not anywhere very near 80, by the way. And Biden’s not too old,” Trump said. “I don’t think Biden’s too old. But I think he’s incompetent, and that’s a bigger problem.”

Trump has poked at Biden’s competency several times recently. He posted on Truth Social earlier this summer that many people in their 80s and 90s are “as sharp as ever,” but that Biden wasn’t one of them.
Other 2024 candidates, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, have disagreed. DeSantis said earlier this week that the presidency is “not a job for someone in their 80s,” speaking about both Biden and Trump.
Trump said said he’s not worried about turning 80 if he were to be reelected.

“My father lived much longer than that. My mother lived much longer than that” he said. “So genetically, that’s a good thing.”
When asked what he has to say to people who think it’s time for a new generation of leaders, Trump said it’s always time for a new generation but “some of the greatest world leaders have been in their 80s.”

Trump Warns That ‘Cognitively Impaired’ Biden Will ‘Lead Us Into World War 2’ in Confused Speech (Video)
While speaking at the D.C. Pray Vote Stand Summit in Washington, D.C. on Friday night, Donald Trump launched into a vitriolic, and mistake-laden, anti-President Biden speech. He told the crowd, “We have a man who is totally corrupt and the worst president in the history of our country, who is cognitively impaired … we would be in World War 2 very quickly if we’re going to be relying on this man.”

It’s likely that Trump meant to say that he believes Biden will lead the country into World War 3, as the Second World War lasted from 1939 to 1945. We are currently in the year 2023.

The former president, who is three years younger than Biden, also warned the crowd of Biden’s reelection, “There will never be a war if that happens— there will never be a war like this. It will obliterate everything there is, everybody, it will obliterate every country.”

This wasn’t the only mistake Trump made during his speech. At another point, he appeared to imply that he is also beating President Obama in the 2024 election polls.

“As you know, crooked Joe Biden and the radical left thugs have weaponized law enforcement to arrest their leading political opponent, and leading by a lot, including Obam— I’ll tell you what,” Trump said before shifting gears. “You take a look at Obama and take a look at some of the things that he’s done, this is the same thing.”

Former President Barack Obama served two terms in office from 2008 to 2016.

Biden’s age has been a topic of discussion for months heading into the 2024 election cycle. Biden himself has addressed the concern and told CNN’s Fareed Zakaria in July 2023 that he believes his age gives him an advantage. At 80, “I think there is one thing that comes with age if you’re being honest about it your whole life, and that is some wisdom.”

In August, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre repeatedly attempted to ignore Jake Tapper as he tried to address a CNN poll that showed 77% of Americans are concerned about Biden’s age. Jean-Pierre eventually told the reporter, “I get it. I get what you’re asking me. But the record matters too, Jake. What he’s been able to do, no other president has been able to do if you look at his legislation.”

Watch Trump’s entire speech in the video above.

More predictable garbage from the man who is All About The Little Guy.

Kristen Welker joins Kaitlan Collins on my no watch list. I'm surprised she didn't say "he loves this country." Prostituting themselves for their new promotions.
