We didn't have much growing up but I remember my mom would come home with these for me and my brother every now and then.

Loved playing with them till they broke.

We had similar things, they were great toys :)

Oh kinda just reminded me, I got one of the very first kites made from parachute material in South Africa :)
I spent a day helping out at a stall selling them then still paid in more than half the kite value but it was an awesome toy.

You guys are making me feel young with all these 1950's toys.. this is what we rocked in the 80's

Gi Joe battleship, complete with cb radio I had that shit!!

Between my brother and I we had probably every Star Wars figure / toy in the early 80s, including this and the Ewok playlet, we even had Han in the Carbonite, most useless toy.

Some of us like silly putty a bit too much still..

not saying names or anything... but.....

I had purchased countless containers of putty.. I even went as far as researching the Dow Corning silly putty slab of 50lbs you can purchase for about $400
but you have to order 100 lbs min
(how to order.. http://vern.com/putty/ordering/dow.html )

Loved those rockets! My best friend and I were the ONLY girls who were in the rocketry club in elementary school. The instructor used to play The Beatles, Abbey Road album all day. I can't hear that album now without thinking of that glue smell, and blowing shit up into the sky on the school playground.

Damn those were fun! I liked the ones with the landing gear, always tried to get them to land right. I hated when we would have to settle for the non powered ones that you just threw. I liked to wind up the rubber bands.

Every summer at the beach! One Sky Streak and one Gayla delta kite! Taught me a thing or two about where structures were and were not strong!
