This is what they sent me.

"House and Garden has been made aware of possible cal-mag deficiencies within the Cocos A/B nutrient line. Holland is currently formulating their own H&G Cal Mag additive for gardeners such as yourself that experience these deficiencies, but there are plenty of gardeners that don't experience these deficiencies at all. I encourage you to try our new House and Garden Coco medium, it is buffered with cal-mag and PH buffered to ease the inconvenience of dealing with deficiencies. Thanks for supporting House and Garden. Peace!"

Nightmare, I've been trying to get a H&G Rep on the phone for over a week now, who did you email to get that response?

Can I safely use h2o2 when using h&g hydro nutes? I am using aqua flakes a, b, root exel, algen extract, multi zen, drip clean and botanicare calmag and AN bud candy.

You don't want to use H2O2 with Roots Excelurator. RE has beneficial bacteria that the H2O2 will kill. If you are worried about algae or slime you will want to use a compost tea like the one in Heisenberg's thread.

H&G seems to work well on small plants. When my plants get bigger they seem to have phosphorus deficiencies. I'm upping the nutes on Cocos A & B. I don't like their feed chart. Adding 1ml of nitrogen boost like they say will burn some strains!

H&G 'Shooting Powder' - Unpredictable harvest time!

[Question summary: is it better to use the SP EARLIER than its optimal date of application or LATER?]

Hi all!
I'm wondering about the house&garden shooting powder application.
It says to use it 4 weeks before harvest, but what if i'm not sure when will I harvest?

Moreover, I'm currently growing 4 plants.
2 of white widow, and
2 of sour diesel.

My plan is to harvest each plant at a different time.
~8 weeks into flowering (aprox.) - early phase of the WW
~10 weeks - late WW and early SD
~12 weeks - late SD

(The point is to get two different dried buds of each strain- one when trichomes just turned aprox 5% amber and one when most of trichomes if not all turned amber)

So!
I'm starting the 4th week of flowering this week,
And wanna hear your recommendation guys how and when to apply the shooting powder. I'm using one system (one light, one irrigation system etc.) so, knowing I cannot be accurate (not with the 4 of them, anyway) what should I aim to- is it better to use the SP EARLIER than its optimal date of application or LATER?

My biggest fear is that the NEW buds (which have grown because of the powder) will not be at the same phase of the rest!! That the buds on each or some plants will not be at the same amber:milky ratio! And the new ones will be less mature. I REALY don't want that. I want to have four jars- and in every jar the buds should be similar--- I wanna know exactly what influence to expect of each jar: this one should be for daytime, this for the night etc.

Thanks so much for your help, guys!

U should be on 3 different flowering schedules. 8 week feed, 10 week feed, and 12 week feed. You might be looking to much into this. Get a chart or go on their site. If you've been feeding the same on all your girls with different flower times then u already messed up.

I agree but I think he said he has it all on one irrigation system so that may be hard or impossible. What kind of irrigation system do you have bla bla?

I'm pissed off. I called HG and they said there is enough Cal/Mag in Cocos A & B. It takes 3-4 weeks to see a Mag issue. Exactly 3-4 weeks later, I have a Calcium and Magnesium def in my plants. I corrected it but the damage was done and I lost some fan leaves.
Purple Stems, yellowing leaves with green veins are all signs of a Mag Def.
Cocos A & B also does not have enough Nitrogen. I have to add a small amount of nitrogen every other feeding.

Coco A & B is not perfect. Adding plain Nitrogen and using Cal/Mag makes it work a whole lot better.

yea but then what's the point of using there base nutrient if i gotta add all that shit to make it work right - its just stupid....i use a base to cover that stuff

the best thing i did was replace there base nutrient with another base nutrient - i replaced it with nutrifields coco a&b, (which also has silica added) and what do ya know - no deficiencies at all anymore...its ph is also around 5.8 to 5.9 after adding to RO water - perfect, no need to even adjust - and then i still use there multi-zen and bud xl, which are the only products that i still use from them...

i highly recommend u don't even use there base - find another base nutrient

I noticed an organic base nutrient on the H&G website that i've never seen or heard of before. Anyone tried this yet or heard how good it is?

In coco I use 100% strength Cocos A & B, after week 1 or 2. I also supplement the entire H&G lineup with CalMag and MagAmped.
